some Habs fans are seriously (and I can't emphasize the word 'seriously' enough here) demented

Obviously hope he's ok though.

Hes had like a year of hockey because of injuries so he is going to be rusty.

The truth is hes the canadiens best player.

People on here are so short sighted.

Becoming a usual story for this player! These types of players can never truly be recognized as great because they get injured just when you need them most, ie: Gaborik, Havlat.....now Markov. I really hope hes OK.

People don't seem to realize that even if it's not THE GREAT Markov, it still means that everyboyd plays their role and the minutes they can give.

Why the heck do you think that Spacek plays better now? Markov injury is bad 'cause you lose Markov AND you ask players that CAN'T replace him to do so.....And you add Picard to the lineup....

Also....people CANNOT add the accidental cut he suffered as a reason that he's injury prone. The only thing I would say as far as Markov is concerned is trying to protect himself better. But mostly, it's a whole lot of bad luck.

People also don't realize that it takes more than 6 games to be back in game shape after missing training camp and pre-season, he was slowly looking better and better... and like you said guys like Spacek were looking better because their ice time is decreasing.

There are still cases of injury prone guys. I mean, if Benoit Brunet wasn't one of them.....there's bad luck and bad luck....

Not necessarily, just meant he was in pain...a charleyhorse or direct hit in the knee area both hurt a lot, but they won't keep you out more than a week.

I dont know if it was his knee or ankle.

But whatever the case, it appeared that Markov was able to put some weight on the affected leg, which could mean a sprain rather than a fracture or tear.

Either way, he will probably be out for a while, but at least a sprain doesnt involve rigorous rehab, so its the lesser of two evils and the thing we should be hoping for.

Keep your fingers crossed, marky is due for a lucky break, but I dont like the way marky punched the boards while he was down, as if he already knew it was bad.

That looks like an intentional knee to me. You can see Staal drive his knee into Markovs leg.

Martin: "Andrei a été blessé au bas du corps et on va l'evaluer dans les prochains jours."

Thanks for the insight coach boring.

I just saw the replay of him being carried off the ice and he looked long and hard into the crowd as he was skating off the ice with a look of despair in his eyes, as if he was doing something that he wouldn't be able to do in a long time. I'm not feeling good about this one.

ouch

How bad/funny would it be if we hear the following:

"Markov's knee is fine, it was more of a charley-horse than anything else. However Markov will still be sidelined from 4 to 6 weeks due to a broken hand from punching the boards."

Sorry... just depressing thinking this may be a long term injury.
