charley horses kill for those who have never had one and the leg can go numb instantly

The more I think about it, the least I actually believe it'll be as serious as what he went through last spring. He might miss a couple of weeks, but I think he'll ultimately be fine. You're not putting your leg straight like this when you get a torn ACL. I just hope it doesn't swell.

Reportedly Markov re-injured the same knee (right) he injured in last spring's playoffs.

Markov has been our best player for years now, do we really need to go over our win/loss record with him and without him again (besides this year that is)?

Mark Spector would be the last person I would be looking to for Habs updates. He knows nothing that we don't already know.

At this point, anything less than one month, and I'll be relieved

They played Martin's comments on RDS, he looked like he knew Markov would be out for a while, looked very depressed for a guy whose team just had an amazing week

I've had 3 serious charley horses playing hockey and they've all been the same. Extreme pain taking you out of the game for 10 minutes or so. Leg starts to feel a little better and you can generally finish the game although it feels really weak. The next day you can barely stand up let alone walk.

JM's opinion doesn't mean anything right now. I'm sure he's that depressed just by the possibility that Markov could be seriously hurt again.

Until we hear from doctors, no one has any insight into the severity.

I have watched the replay 10 times and I really think Stall lifts his knee a bit and uses his knee to hit Markov. Not that Stall was aiming at Markov knee, I think Stall just wanted to make contact in order to get advantage to get the puck. Having said all that STILL looks like kneeing to me on all the replays. He keeps his legs way apart and pivots hard with his knees out.,, that's kneeing and that's a penalty.

No offense but that's a load of crap.

Every other team in the NHL comes out the night of the injury and says "4-to-6 weeks". Doctors can evaluate him right in the room and get an idea how long he'll be gone.. It's team policy it seems to keep things under wraps.

Martin knows Markov is gone for a long enough amount of time.

lol watching the fear mongers on Antichambre?

JM doesn't know because for him to actually know, they would of had to have done an MRI on his knee. They don't have an MRI at the Bell Center...

Fairly certain you can't get an opinion on the severity of a knee injury approximately 10-15 minutes after it happens.

Teams can usually only give accurate time lines on injuries when a bone is broken.

Sorry... just depressing thinking this may be a long term injury.
This would normally be funny. Thx for the effort though.

Certainly team doctors have an idea what is wrong with him. No doubt they did mobility tests in his leg. They have an idea what to look for, it's the extent of the injury that will require MRI tests and what not.

I am not optimistic about this at all, seen it far too much. I'm going to predict 6 weeks minimum.

They may be able to get a general idea, but there's no way to pinpoint any kind of time line without an MRI.
