This is the danger of not having a bit of crazy on your team. Of course, you don't want that crazy to drag your young players to the bar. But can you get by the Flyers or Eric Staal or Matt Cooke or whoever without it? Would Georges Laraque make a difference? What's the answer.

Watching this game reminded me of the seminal rookie turning point games of the past (1976, 1986, and ... now probably).

I asked my girl to marry me today and Montreal's rookies were busting out, I was riding on the moon... and then Eric Staal proved to me that you have to be careful at all times (not with my girl, of course, I'm a happy man!). Bad word to Eric Staal and sometimes I wish Matt Cooke was on our team.

google reads your history and past searches & incorporates them into new searches so if you did this on a strangers computer, it probably wouldn't come up.

Did Markov injured his hand by punching the board?

I realize that but I'm sure you've googled andrei markov in the past, it remembers that, it also uses what is a hot search right now, google is really advanced in what it searches for.

But let me test it out, I am going to IM a friend in the USA, who isn't a hockey fan, tell them to go to google and type "andrei M' and have them tell me what comes up.

I mean the andrei part is really going to be a factor but. google is awesome at utilizing what you've done in the past, its kinda sick.

ok my friend just said the two top suggestions for him were

"markov and mumbai"

thus proving my point about popular and past I think, seriously, try this out, ask any friends that you may have that don't live in canada to test it out, also don't ask hockey fans cuz that will also skew the results

You went through all that just to prove a point that we had little doubt of? Free time much?

Google reads your history and location and will give the most appropriate results.

Wouldn't mind having OB in the lineup assuming that Markov is out..

What's the next move for PG? Picard? Weber?

I'm on a work computer that has never had anything to do with that searched and the first three things are;

Andrei Markov
Andrei Markov Injury
Andrei Markov Injury Report.

Your honestly telling me that your posting on a work computer right now and that its never had any hockey related searches on it?

Also your in canada, so the results are going to be skewed cuz of this

Look at the face of Staal in the article picture.... Epic!

It's like he knew he just did something horrible...

I've been saying it for a long time on these boards, and the majority of people rip me for it, BUT..............

Can we now all agree that Mr. Markov is injury prone?

Gauthier should have traded him before the season started, or at the least when he came back from the knee injury and was able to show the rest of the league he was ok.

Now we are potentially down a top 2 d-man for an extended period of time, and any trade value Markov may have potentially had has now evaporated becasue of his inability to stay healthy.

I am convinced the Boyd and O'byrne moves were setting something bigger up, and that likely meant Markov being shipped out for a top 4 d-man and some scoring help.

Staal is not to blame here. Markov puts himself in vulnerable positions too often, and ultimately pays the price. This team has proven they can win without him, and I'm just disappointed that he will not be contributing to the Habs success one way or another - whether that means as a roster player, or as a trade asset which would have given a nice return back........

Keep in mind over half our defensive corps is either RFA or UFA status next season. Getting future pieces in sooner than later will be key. Would you want the Habs going into the offseason with only 3 or 4 legit NHL defenseman signed? Scary.

No.

These are unlucky injuries. It doesn't have anything to do with being injury prone.
