This has been coming back more and more since the lockout and I'm personally very confused as to why. It was one of the trademark rule changes after the lockout that you could not impede an offensive player's advance into the defensive zone. Now pretty much every play consists of a player being interfered with upon dumping the puck in. Is it maybe because the rule in effect makes a large chunk of those 6 foot 8 slow d-men obsolete and the players union pushed on this somehow?
Either way I guess what irks me the most is that the Rangers as a team do not do this as a matter of fact regular play and if everyone else is not paying attention to the rule we shouldn't be the last ones to adapt.
