Finally.... thank you. Admittedly, not quite there for the present (though neither are a lot of the others that have been named, esp. McCabe who is awful), but for those looking forward, no question.

you're right, why hasn't anyone mentioned Cory Sarich?

The "no cups" argument is just a plain bad way to measure individual players. Besides, they all still have plenty of career left. Pronger is the oldest, and he's only like 31

nobody has mentioned McCabe in this thread except to say how bad he is. honestly, people are fighting an enemy that doesn't exist. nobody on here believes he is a top 5 defenseman. not even Bryan McCabe's mother thinks he is.

if people wonder why Leaf's fans always call out the anti-Leafs bias, it's the constant stuff like this that drives us over the edge

you can't jump to the upper level without a blueline stint on a cup winner - sorry - nothing more pressure packed than the final series - chara and redden in the world championship's - nuff said -
pronger - not even a whiff

By all means, judge them by their individual playoff performances. But judging a player on a team accomplishment is just silly in my opinion. Did Ray Bourque become a better player because he won a cup with Colorado? Would Jarome Iginla be a better player if they had won game 7 last year? I think his playoff performance speaks for itself.

If you don't like Pronger, Chara, and Redden because you feel they play poorly in the playoffs, that's fine. But to penalize them because their team failed to win the ultimate prize is kind of illogical

There goes Lidstrom. Who needs him anyway?
