Yeah, and it was an empty-netter. Just read that today looking at recent Manchester results.

King's offensive numbers look pretty good and he's definitely got the size. I've gotta think that King or Richie get the nod at 1st line LW and either will result in Clifford getting more ice time (A good thing IMO).

Lombardi keeps saying that his biggest mistake was pushing Bernier into the NHL too young, now they are jerking Schenn around the same way. Just send him back to the WHL and be over with it....Eberle went back to juniors for 2 years after he was drafted and Edmonton needed him a lot more than we need Schenn.

If King is good defensively, can cycle the puck and use his size he should be a good fit on that line.

^ my thoughts exactly. He is not getting time here anyways, Give him his 9th game sometime during this conditioning stint then send him back to Brandon. He will have had 2 months in the show, an AHL stint with hopefully big minutes and can play at the world jr's.

We have Lewis, Richie, Loktionov, etc that are just as ready or ahead of Schenn's progress.

Schenn hasn't been officially assigned to Manchester for his 'conditioning assignment' just yet... apparently the league is dubious of the, though legal, move.

I agree with the NHL. I can't see how this would be allowed, it is either the NHL or juniors. No AHL allowed for him.

problem is, it is technically a legal move... Schenn is on the Los Angeles Kings roster and is thereby eligible to be sent to the minors on a conditioning assignment.

It looks legal to me, as we did it with Moller (the fact that his ELC had kicked in already is irrelevant) the only difference was Moller was coming back from an injury so a "conditional assignment" seemed more relevant where as in this situation Schenn is healthy. If you can send healthy players on conditional assignments there should be no reason we can't do this.

But I would have to think that AHL games even on a conditional assignment are "pro games" and his ELC will kick in if he plays 2 games down there.

Actually, Article 9 specifically states NHL games.

Are you suggesting that since he scored a goal, Parse had a good game last night?

I think King is a surefire NHL'er in the not too distant future, but my lasting impression of him this preseason was that he was slllllooooooowwwwwwwww.

Dean Millard, a radio host in Edmonton, says he's "being told" Schenn is getting sent down to keep him at 8 games while the Kings offer him in a deal to the Flames for something involving Iginla.

Then again, Millard isn't really known as much of an NHL insider.

Not sure how reliable the source is.....I like Iggy alot but he is on the downslope of his career and Schenn is alot to give up. LA does have Lokti, Moller, and Kozun coming up tho. Stoll and Handzus may stick around a little longer as well. Would Iggy bring us that much closer to a Cup? Interesting thought none the less.

This is how I see it. I just feel Kopi and Brown had stepped it up a little, and Parse benefited.

i think the only clear thing with all this schenn business is the kings find no benefit of sending schenn back to juniors.

Ya they've been saying that, and that whole contract bonus deal which makes him affordable to keep on the big club. Think he looked really good in the early going and think if he was allowed to stick he'd become comfortable and the bounces would start to go his way. Definitely don't want to see him go.

Isn't he the guy that said Kovalchuk had officially signed with the Kings and was on his way here to sign the contract?
