Didn't miss it. I clearly saw that. Crosby will get calls for him, but not against him.

I haven't talked to him about this game yet, but my brother-in-law is a Penguins fan. Let me tell all the people on here who think the Pens get a bias in their favor something: I've watched enough Penguins games with him to know that he gets mad at the refs pretty much every game for blown calls or bad calls. Last night was a strange game and I don't see how the refs missed as much as they did, but the game was an aberration, not evidence of a rule.

I respect what your saying, but I think there has to be some merit to the fact that the friends that I talk to who are fans of numerous teams (toronto, NY, NJ, Philly, Boston, Tampa, Washington and Buffalo) all say the same thing, the penguins get game changing calls in their favor all the time (late in the game calls when down a goal, momentum changes after the other team scores, calls to even things up when they are down a man).

There is a reason everyone has a problem with the Pens and no one is talking about the Flyers get all the calls, or the Caps get all the calls.

And for the record my most despised teams are Philly and NJ, followed by the Islanders. The only thing I hate about the Penguins is how they are babied by the league..well, because they have the baby...

Not to rain on the Crosby hate parade, but he has at least 60 PIMS in all seasons but one.

http://www.nhl.com/ice/player.htm?id...d=nhl-keymatch

He even had 110 in his rookie year.

I don't know. If Lundqvist is complaining about the officiating in Pittsburgh and is demanding to know the penalty history there the past five years, then this is more than just an isolated incident. And this is not the first time that a Ranger has criticized the officiating in Pittsburgh... Straka, Shanahan, and Jagr have all voiced their concerns about the refs turning a blind eye to Crosby's diving.

In the 2008 playoff series alone, there were so many egregious non-calls that I started to question the officiating. The Crosby dive in Game 1. Malkin's slew-foot on Mara in Game 4. Malone's high stick on Drury in Game 5. What I saw yesterday only continued the pattern of biased officiating.

I gotcha. It just seems like he doesnt get called against him. You know what those penalties are?

Diving Penalties.

That's what they should be. He dives tons, but he rarely gets called for it. Diving in general is rarely called, because unless it's totally blatant, ala Ribeiro or Kovalev, it won't be called.

That is true. They should call diving more often. i was watching the Devils Oilers game and the refs called a penalty on Edmonton for tripping.

Now of course Kovalchuk drew the penalty, but it was so clear that he dove and instead the powerplay went to The Devils.

It's rediclulous. And that penalty costed the Oilers the game.

How many penalty minutes he has doesn't tell the story.

Let's say he was called for 30 minor penalties(60 PIMS), assuming there's no majors or misconducts. He could have committed 100 penalties and only got called for 30.

That was awful. He grazed him with his glove, and he went flopping down on the ice.

the worst was Chico commending him for it.

He took 31 last year (not sure about the 9 mins in PIMS in the Minny game).

Other sports seem to hold their referees somewhat accountable. The teams get input and have the freedom to voice concerns internally to the league. The leagues address it. The NFL's officiating is IMO pretty good.

It's actually pretty hilarious, especially growing up and hearing my whole life how european players are soft, etc.

A guy like Hank makes Sid look like a child. Not a 23 y/o, an absolute child. Hank is a stand up professional that calls it like he sees it, works hard always, and I have never seen him take a dive. Much like Jagr who was always panned for being soft...yet would spend every night battling through slashes, holdings, late hits all as the refs turned a blind eye and he just continued to play.

To be honest, the way Sidney Crosby acts on the ice, I am much more likely to compare him to Sean Avery, than I ever would a guy like Hank or Cally.

and I think that says alot about the leagues poster boy.

Whenever I think of poor officiating, I right away think of this...

Shockingly, no call on the play. To make it even better, Drury gets called for a 4 minute highsticking a couple shifts after.

This is probably the best example. In the playoffs...elimination game...in Pittsburgh. Completely ridiculous that no penalty was called...accidental high stick by Malone or not.

And ironically we got called for a four minute high stick the other night on an accidental play.

True, but the difference is Avery never gets the call. Avery dove into the boards, no penalty. Malkin dives, Callahan in the box.

I guess in hindsight we should all be thankful he didn't get 2 for unsportsmanlike misconduct.

It was a great dive though.
