One player can't do anything against that, George Laraque ?? Team toughness, and I think we do have a lot of toughness as a team already, it's just that our players aren't very big to begin with, so it always seem worse than it probably is...
I felt that during the game especially right after the Halpern hit we needed someone to come in and fight, because it was inevitable one was gonna happen. Unfortunately Lapierre had to fight and lost. I respect him for doing what he did but hes not a fighter period.
a guy like Ryan White or Andrew Conboy would definitely help, but considering theres already Boyd being scratched theres no room for either of them, which leaves Alex Henry on defence but Picard is playing well so i dont see him playing either
meaning i dont think there is really any solution to this problem unless we pull off some sort of trade, but 100% a tough guy with scoring ability would be nice

White maybe, but not Conboy. All the kid does is throw hay-makers. He'd get killed in the NHL.
I don't think its something you can patch. Conboy and White in the AHL would help with that, but would they really improve the team? They wont stop the like's of Pronger or Hartnell, who simply get more ice-time than 4th liners. You need to get some more size on the team, this team has fight, they just don't have the size to go with it.
the habs need more toughness. they need deterrents. in 08/09 gainey got BGL (based on our 1st place finish and how team ran us) which made a little bit of difference. i don't think he was completely useless. if habs become an elite team, philly boston ottawa etc will keep gunning for our best players..carey, subban etc...and rough stuff leads to injuries...call up white who is a legitimate middleweight and make alex henry the 7th dman to play vs goon teams

there was a day when Corson, McPhee, Nilan and the boys would handle this without a problem.
Ever watched a full game of those days lately??..Hockey has become a lot more entertaining nowadays due to the fact the game opened up a lot more for skilled players.
I don't want anybody added to this team for the sole purpose of being more aggressive every time we play the Flyers.

exactly conboy's not a heavyweight nor is schultz. bonneau is but can't play in the NHL...which leaves henry as a legitimate heavyweight
Habs need to call up Alex Henry as the 7th Dman and have him in play against teams like the Flyers. He is a big boy and can fight, plus he can play the 6th man role well.
