A 20 year old, if there is an NHL future, will be lighting it up big. Kristo's stock may just need to be downgraded.
Bigger concern is it looks as though Tinordi is another bust ala Fischer and McDonagh.
2 assists as an 18 yearold in the OHL means you have little skill and no vision. Last time I saw someone like this was Fischer who was written off as a prospect as an 18 yearold.
Why do Habs draft 18 year old US kids who have only played at a crap level ?? Why continue to draft these guys who have only played national development camp and high school in US ??? When will they learn for cripes sake, after Tinordi bombs ??
Good news, a Hamilton resident and Bulldog watcher, Pacioretty is playing very, very well although hands probably prevent a top 2 line winger. Polushaj needs some weight/muscle and more experience working the boards, hustle second to none.
Watch out maybe for Avtsin. He seems lost out there trying to get defensive coverage right but for skating and talent, he could be a potential NHL top 2 liner after
this year and next year in the Hammer.
Nash is interesting, extremly poised and confident in own zone with the puck.
Since when is US U18 a crap level, they have produced more good players than just about anywhere else in the world...7 picks in the top 2 rounds in both 2009 and 2010.
OK, maybe a bit harsh on Tinordi, but he reminds me of Fischer, no clue what to do with the puck.
Remember guys, OHL is such a lower calibre hockey than AHL, let alone NHL.
Tinordi gets 10 points this year, thats awful. Most stay at home NHLers were pretty good at putting up some points in the lower leagues. They do it with hockey sense, skating and puck movement. If Tinordi misses on 2 of those 3, he wont make it.
For the " scouts " out there, remind me of guys in the NHL with terrible junior stats
again .......... oh, your lucky day then, you just learned something.
I forgot how 1/5 of a season = 1 full season
I also forgot how projections 1/5 of the way into the season = accurate
But, its a horrid start for a 1st rounder or NHL prospective defenceman when 18 years old.
Look at NHLers stats on hockeydatabase and think of NHL defensive defenceman
and you wont find many with lousy offensive numbers at 18. I thinks Gorges had
more than a point per game at 18 years old and before anyone jumps on that, that is just an example. Go do the research.
Junior is not quality hockey, compared to the NHL. Most defensive defenceman in the NHL are really reshaped and refocused players that were good offensive guys in junior or at least good all around with decent offensive numbers. Its a matter of a competent NHL prospect gets a fair amount of points at such a lower level of hockey.
I know its early and I hope he turns it around, but one could see Fischer was a bust at 18 years old when he couldnt put up any stats. Tinordi ( very early on ) looks the same.
