You know, Vermette, the 65 point forward we gave away for nothing.

The 2nd line C we are clearly lacking for a goalie less durable and less dependable than a shooter tutor.

what did leclaire have? a season with the most retarded injuries ive ever heard and a GAA average that screams put me on waivers!!

Edit: can't forget that CBJ were an under .500 team that was bottom 5 in goals for

I would, not only is his flow comparable to that of Karlsson the guy has REALLY soft hands and a decent shot and good hockey IQ

If you dont think Vermette is a quality player and your calling for Chris "the carpenter" Kelly to fit the second line spot your a ****ing retard.

Vermette would never ever be more than a 50 point guy in Ottawa.

That's why he was dealt.

He wasn't a stud, he was a PK and faceoff specialist. That's it.

Yup we can't forget the phenomenon that allows Clarke MacArthur to be on a 35 goal pace. Vermette is a good player, and we chose Fisher over Vermette, it's arguable whether one is better than the other, put in the same position I expect they would put up similar numbers. But don't use the fact that he's a first line center on a bad team putting up below average numbers for a 1st line center....first line centers on teams that lose year after year are likely not true 1st line center.

Maybe we just have different opinions on what a stud is. I would call players a stud who puts in a good effort every night, is a quality all round player, and who has offensive creativity...like vermette

Vermette never got what he deserved on our team, simply because our retarded mgmt gives players like Fisher NTC's and then when we get into a sticky situation were forced to deal one of our core players for "the goalie of the future"

Vermette very well could have been a 65pt guy in Ott as well. How is playing on a defence first trapping team with only one goal scoring line a better situation for putting up points than our club?

Lines we COULD HAVE HAD!

Michalaek Spezza Alfredsson
Regin Vermette Kovalev
Kelly Fisher Neil
Foligno Winchester Shannon

instead we have only two talented centers so when our offensive is struggling were either forced to put Fish on the first line (makes me wanna puke, eat my puke, then puke again) or have 3 checking lines and a stacked line.

Clarke McArthur is ON PACE for 35 goals

Vermette FINISHED LAST YEAR with 65 points

Big ****ing difference

Even Columbus knows Vermette is a second line center, never once did i say he was a top center. He is a straight cut second liner who is sharing the first line duties with Huselius

Why is Vermette being brought up here? It was him or Fisher. We went with Fisher. Deal with it.

It's amazing that some "Sens fans" still didn't realize that, or at least heard it from someone else.

It can't be more obvious. I would have liked any of them really, glad we went with Fisher because of the grit factor. Our top-6 would lack grit without him.

Dude... The salary cap has been on for years (2005-06). So learn about it and come back after? Ok thanks.

It was Fisher or Vermette, it was Fisher or Vermette. Now repeat it 50 times and you might learn something today.

And why we did this, why we did that?

Heatley-Spezza-Alfredsson
Havlat-Vermette-Kovalev
Michalek-Fisher-Neil
Foligno-Regin-Kelly

Chara-Gonchar
Phillips-Volchenkov
Kuba-Karlsson

Why not?

Didn't he have more than 50 points in his last full year here? The best he ever looked was with Stillman, which was the only time he consistently got to play with skilled guys.

Not sure if this was news up there, but a 7-year old girl was hit by a puck off a stick from Ryan Shannon on Monday. Puck Daddy found local video updating the the girl's condition, and wrote a letter to Shannon, who sent her a stick and I guess some other stuff:

I'm not the guy to call someone out on trivial things, but if you're (note I said 'you're') to question someone's intelligence, no less degrade them with a name such as "retard", at least pretend you can speak our language.

Lehner wasn't the principal return in the trade. We were lucky to draft him with the 2nd.

Well, except that he is getting lit up like a X-mas tree on the rare occasion that he does play in Bingo.

And how was it Fisher or Vermette? We could easily afford them both. Fisher should be the 3rd line C, but if people still want to hold on to the fantasy that he's a 2nd line C, we could have shifted Vermette to the wing.

You know, where he played in Bingo with Spezza all those years ago.

Or conversely, we could have used him as the 2nd line C that he is.

He makes less than Kovalev.

Face the truth. The Vermette / Leclaire trade was highway robbery. For Columbus.
