Another thread had me thinking about some players who have disappeared in the past few years. I thought a thread of "where are they now" would be an interesting topic where you can update former players current activities, or ask where they are...
October 17, 2008 Announced his retirement. Not sure what he is doing to this date.
Unfortunately, Daze ran into severe back problems during his career, which limited him to only 19 games in the 2003–04 NHL season. Even after three herniated disc surgeries in a five-year span, pain was still a problem in Daze's back when he attempted to return to the Blackhawks in 2005. He quietly left professional hockey after playing a single period in the season opener for the Blackhawks that season. On March 20, 2010, Daze officially announced his retirement on the Comcast Sportsnet pregame show before the Hawks game.
After spending a season in Germany's Deutsche Eishockey Liga, Jillson signed with the Colorado Avalanche as a free-agent in 2007, but spent the entire season in the AHL with the Lake Erie Monsters and never played for the Avalanche. In 2008, Jillson signed with HC MVD of the Kontinental Hockey League, was he later released, and signed with Lukko of the Finnish SM-liiga.
On October 1, 2009, Jillson signed a one-year contract with HC Pardubice of the Czech Extraliga.
Allison's come back - In an interview after his first exhibition game back, Allison was as confident as ever. "I didn't contribute much, but that's to be expected, I'm just shaking the cobwebs off. I fully anticipate regaining my previous form as a point per game player."
Jason Allison's bid to make the team on a tryout ended up falling short. The training invite yielded a memorable moment, when Allison fought with the Philadelphia Flyers' Darroll Powe during an exhibition game and ripped his helmet in half with his bare hands. It was not enough, however, and by September 28, Maple Leafs head coach Ron Wilson confessed that Allison was "out of the plans."
Today - Jason Paul Allison (born May 29, 1975) is a professional ice hockey centre who is currently an unrestricted free agent. Allison is most notably known for his former role with the Boston Bruins of the NHL, for which he briefly served as team captain.
Ragnarrsson had to retire due to injury. Sami Kapanen looks to have retired as well, not listed on his club team's roster. OKT and Mattias Timander play for Modo in Sweden as does Niko Dimitrakos. Radovan Somik is playing for HC Eaton Pardubice in the Czech Republic.
Dan kordic, never hear a peep about him. Someone said years ago he was ref. I cant find anything.
Petr Svboda – always liked him.
Erico Ciccone – best name in hockey.
I was wondering about those three myself. It's crazy how they go from NHL players/stars to not hearing a single thing about them (unless they stay in the biz or do something crazy).
Im hoping someone has some cool stories, like this guys owns this restaurant/bar (like Wayne Gretzky in TO), or this guy married this hot chick, or so and so is in jail for banging sheep's, or this figler is a male model now....stuff like that. Theo's story is pretty cool. I think I'm going to buy his book.
