If you had to choose...

between a group of 4 players to build the Kings around, who would you choose:

A) Kopitar, Brown, Quick and Johnson

or

B) Doughty, Bernier, Schenn and Simmonds

Please give your reasons why.

A

I think Kopitar is on his way to being a franchise center. He is already a great player. Quick has really won me over this season. I think he actually might have a chance to be a top end goaltender. Brown is a great character player, the kind of guy you need on a winner. And I think JJ will be a perennial all-star for the next 10+ years, I have no doubt about his abilities.

Sorry but for me this is another incomplete question poll. I took it to mean that if I had to go forward this year with either of the two groupings being available or healthy enough to play. In that case Im gonna go with our vets up front and JJ JQ. That said, if it is forever I wouldn't vote.

I choose B) based on the fact that they have all won a WJC. These are also the guys that have been drafted under DL's great scouting team and have his seal of approval.

Bernier is a bit of an exception, but I think he still fits the bill based on how his development has been handled.

Group A)

This is a proven group and really rising.

Group b are all of the not leading unproven guys.
And right now i see Johnson being a better defender than Doughty.

Yet, you choose group B because they won in the WJC? Lolz.

I can't tell if you're being serious or just trolling.

Trollin in my 6-4. I don't know about you, but winning a WJC is nothing to sneeze at if you ask legitimate hockey people.

I also chose B) because I have very little faith in group A). Happy now?

Three of the four best players there are from group A. That makes it an easy choice.

Kopitar>>> Schenn
Brown> Simmonds
Quick>>Bernier
Doughty>Johnson (this season JJ>DD)

This isn't even close.

Then you're doing it wrong. It's not about who's better RIGHT NOW. It's about who do you think would be better to build a team around. Who shows more desire to be the best? Who shows more loyalty? Who wants the puck on their stick when the game is on the line? Who is going to go offsides or try a toe-drag move and end up shooting the puck at the opposing goalies chest? Who is going to fight for their teammates? Get it?

so to sum up. You think B) is better because Simmonds fights more than Brown.

You dont need scoring in this league, you need intangibles!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So just because Group A wasn't drafted by Lombardi, they don't have his seal of approval? Could've fooled me.

Picked option A:

Doughty > Johnson (Doughty has generational d-man potential, but Johnson has the potential to be a #1 on like 95% of NHL rosters.)

Kopitar >> Schenn (Kopitar has actually scored a goal in the NHL.)

Quick > Bernier (Quick has proven he can be a great goalie in the NHL. Bernier has not, but has potential.)

Brown >> Simmonds

Anyway... I will choose A. I love Doughty, but group A is a much more solid and balanced group. It's all about winning the cup, not individual awards...

Kopitar,Brown,Quick are still better to build around than Schenn, Simmonds, and Bernier. Prove me otherwise.

I don't see Bernier, Schenn, or Simmonds showing up on the highlight reals just yet.

Quote:

Kopitar signed a long term deal. Brown signed a long term deal at below market value. Quick signed for below value. Johnson fired his own agent and I could see him signing a deal well bellow what others are expecting. You can't argue that.

Quote:

Johnson is far above everyone else in this category.

Who do you put on the ice with a minute left in a 1 goal game? Brown and Kopitar are still preferred over Simmonds and Schenn.

Bottom line is you got nothing.
