Landeskog is my favourite player who doesn't play for London in the OHL. He is very skilled and he does not shy away from the physical aspect of the game. Aside from Backstrom he is my favourite Swedish player. He definitely deserves the captains role.

Great news. He'll definitely get a letter at the WJCs I reckon.

Here's an article:

Quote:
The Kitchener Rangers have named Gabriel Landeskog as their new captain.

October 25, 2010
By Jeff Hicks, Record staff

KITCHENER — His passport says Tre Kronor.

His birth certificate says 17.

Swedish winger Gabriel Landeskog isn’t just the first truly European captain in the 48-year-history of the Kitchener Rangers...

Funny story about Landeskog from this past summer.

He was at a party in Sweden and he was speaking english to a visitor from Canada. A Swedish girl heard him speaking english and asked him if he was Canadian. As a joke he said he was a hockey player from Canada and wanted to play eventually in Sweden and came over to learn the language and culture. The girl then decided to teach him Swedish for the next hour and told him..."wow, you really picked up on Swedish really really fast!!"
