Stepan's stick in US Hockey HOF

Quote:
The stick that Hastings native Derek Stepan, 20, a rookie with the New York Rangers, used to become the first American to score a hat trick in his first NHL game (against Buffalo this season), has been donated by the Rangers for display at the U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame in Eveleth, Minn.

The young man has acquitted himself very well. 10 points in 21 games. 3 game point streak. Points in 4 out of 5 games. 39 point projection.

His mom is also hot.

He's been solid so far this year. And as soon as he was moved off the 4th line, he started producing. Torts better keep him there, because he's making some unreal passing plays.

that play he made setting up gaboriks breakaway last night was gorgeous. staalesque play in the corner to get control of the puck than about a 120 foot pass to get gabs a breakaway.

But guys, we have to send him to the AHL.

Seriously though, Stepan has proven he thinks the game at a high level and his lack of physicality has not hindered the game he excels at playing.

he's kidding. Last night, Joe Micheletti kept saying it was Frolov that fed MDZ the puck.

I haven't seen Frolov make a single pass like that yet.

The Edmonton game seemed to reignite his offensive production.

and "Derek Stepan Sister" "Mother" "Mom" "Girlfriend" are all top search results.

Well at least he scored another goal preventing him from being the only player in NHL history to get a hat trick in his first game and never score again.

I have a blank Rangers jersey and I'm thinking of getting Stepan customized onto it. I'm just going to wait until Drury gets back to see what they do with Stepan.

No way in hell they are sending him down. He was sooo good last night. Put his name on your jersey. I will pay to get it removed if they send him down.

Yea I know, I just want to be safe and not wear a jersey with an AHL'er throughout the year.

Honestly, yeah, I was disappointed too. I was psyched that Step made such an awesome pass, and then I was all, "Aww, Frolov...?"
