So I had the best brownies ever and it was from starbucks.
Peppermint Brownies
OMG, let me tell you guys. GO GET SOME. Its only during the holiday seasons. BUT WORTH EVERY BUCK. Okay it was actually 2.75, pretty damn expensive but damn was it good. Still craving it now.

Drew, haven't you been listening to anything they've been saying to you?
He failed the fitness tests at the beginning of training camp the first time around. He had to retake them. That's pretty good evidence right there.
I don't remember that at all... Do you have a link?
Here's one that I found:
Question: Drew Doughty looks to be a little more slim than last season. Have you noticed an improvement in conditioning?
MURRAY: “He’s put a lot of time in, in the offseason, working out. He looks good. He’s maturing physically, and that’s a good thing for us. I’m looking for him to take a big bite of the minutes again, every night, and play at a high level on a consistent basis. It’s a good indication that he’s hungry to take more minutes.”

He's also failed pre-draft conditioning tests. He's been around crap food for a while, maybe? There was an article in the LA Times, if I recall, from Simmonds rooming with Doughty and saying he just leaves everything laying around.
Hopefully Doughty gets it together soon, he's only 20.

I saw that quote and cringed. Bad choice of words from Murray.
I think he's doing it on purpose!

Thank you for a very productive post. I am not typically a sweet eater (except the choke berrys that grow on my property, I can't get enough of them) but I had read your post and was at a starbucks and thought why not?
I had one of those brownie's and it really was pretty dang good. I think that I might get more in a day r two.
I wonder if Drew knows about these things wait, of course he does.
you know, if he does this 2 year short term contract with all his young players, he may end up with upwards of 6 contracts to deal with in one year. i wonder if he'll do this with all his contracts or just his big ones
Still waiting on someone to provide a link that backs up the claims of him not coming to camp in shape.
(Yes...I did just do a google image search for a picture in which DD looks the fattest and post it knowing that it provides absolutely no answer to the question you're asking)

I don't have time to look for the link right now, but it was widely discussed that he failed the fitness test at the beginning of training camp and had to take it again. Maybe someone else can help me out here...
His conditioning doesn't explain the more frequent bad passes and brain cramps this season. He's being given less time this year. His opponents are catching on to his moves. Instead of trying to deflect his passes, they're trying to hit him and force him into blind passes.
He's too smart not to make adjustments to the physical play. He'll figure it out and turn a pretty decent season into another brilliant one.
I don't see any reason either side needs to sign a long term deal right now.
I sent Rich an email and this is the response I received:

I was partially right; he did have to retake the fitness test.
Fair enough. I'm still not convinced he came to camp in any worse shape than last season though. I think there is more going on than just conditioning.

There could be other factors, but bottom line he did not show up in the kind of shape that Brown, Quick, Johnson and some of the other young leaders on the Kings did.

Doughty should be a chilseled piece of man meat right now. Anything less than being cut at his age, his profession and his payscale is pure laziness. If a dietician is not provided by the team to make your meals then it is a write off, no excuses not to have one. If a personal trainer is not provided by the team it is also a write off, no excuses not to have one.

I agree there is just no excuse in today's NHL. Entry level Contracts on Average are what? (500k) a year if you make the team.
That is more than enough to afford a Personal trainer and Personal Chef.
