I wouldnt be surprised at all of Zherdev gets moved shortly. Especially if Wellwood plays like he did so far

And rightfully so. They'll need him to fight Subban.

Don't care who gets benched...Wellwood was playing better than anyone who is a candidate to get benched.

Hope Wellwood gets put on the top 9. Waste of a spot if he is put on the 4th. Just move Powe to the 4th line please.

This game is on TSN, I'm excited to see Wellwood play on tv
I think it's on TSN in the Montreal area. I didn't see it on their schedule for TSN or TSN2 unless they've made a last minute change.

It is pretty obvious it is Z who will be out. Outside of some niffty dangles, he never looked cross ice for plays, and he coughed up the puck a bit to easily.

they've been advertising it here for a few days in Winnipeg

you're right, it's not on. Why would they advertise a game that we can't see?

I'm also guessing it's gonna be Zherdev. I've seen some posters speculate that one reason why Lavi hasn't sat Shelley yet is so he doesn't show up Holmgren, but isn't sitting Z worse? I mean, the guy is basically seen as the replacement in the lineup for a long-tenured fan favorite while Shelley is just a 4th liner, even if he did get a multi-year deal. I just don't think Lavi likes the kind of player that Zherdev is, and this will probably go on all year unless he's traded.

I thought it was close to being a possibility a few games back. He has no use against the Habs. I too wish it were him.

I'd be surprised if it's JVR considering he was one the best players against the Caps and Z was sent to the 4th line in favor of him. Considering Z is probably not what Lavi is looking for on the 4th line, it is probably him that will sit. However, why not switch him and Powe. Zherdev had great chemistry with both Carter and Giroux during preseason (I know it's been awhile but it's true).

Then Again if Wellwood is playing where do you put him? Nodl and Richards really seem to be benefiting from playing with each other. Richards had struggled this season before being paired with Nodl and has exploded since (yes partly coincidence but not all) and Nodl has struggled his entire young NHL career until now. Then you have JVR who played really well with those two against the Caps. I'm not saying JVR turned a corned, but Lavi has a perfect chance to show him that if he plays the way he did Sat, he'll be rewarded.

I'd go with:

Nodl Richards JVR
Hartnell Briere Leino
Zherdev/Wellwood Giroux Carter
Shelly Betts Powe

It'll be hard to not put Wellwood back on Richard's line.

After the way the last game ended, this may be the first game I'd actually be in favor of him being in the lineup.

Also, if Zherdev is benched, I doubt he'll be here much longer. He's played much better.

Personally I'd think that;

JvR-Richards-Nodl
Hartnell-Briere-Leino
Zherdev-Carter-Giroux
Powe-Betts-Wellwood

looks like 4 lines with potential to score and an abnormally defensive and solid 4th line with more flair then what we had last year.

As long as Nodl stays with Richie. They look good together.

I think Zherdev seems to be finished on this team by the deadline. Lavy really doesn't like him.

You are way off base here.Guess you do not watch Flyer games. JVR had a very good game at Washington. No way he sits. Nodl is really playing well. Looks like the z man.

I agree it should be Zherdev. Anyone who thinks that Lavi would be hesitant to sit a player because of the gm must be either really naive or a hater. Homer would be the first to admit he screwed up Man that is to funny

Agreed, but Wellwood also looked good with Ritchie.
