Ever since the Habs reinvented themselves from the putrid, last-place-quality team of last year to this year's fundamentally sound squad, I keep worrying that it's a mirage and that they're playing over their heads.
Games like this don't really allay my irrational fears. Hopefully it's just a one-off, and not the clock striking midnight.
Yeah, crap on gomez, he does deserve it, but at least hes WORKING, its not his fault its BAD work
but i GOTTA say...Cammalleri is starting to piss me off, ..hes playing so..slow? soft, his reaction time is so terrible, and his effort is just, non existent, hes not even getting shots off, its unbeleivable, wake the **** up man
Gomez has been GOD AWFUL, but Cammy has been very bad as well. There's no point in talking about Gomez's play until he turns it around because he can't get much worse than this.
However, Cammalleri has done close to nothing all season long. The guy's a pure goal scorer, so don't cite me goal totals. I haven't seen the work ethic I saw from him last season. I haven't seen the hockey smarts that normally make him a 40 goal scorer. I haven't seen the true desire to backcheck and make a smart defensive play.
He's been coasting around all season long, Take last game for example. He didn't have a good game at all. He scored on the PP because it was given to him on a silver platter and he's just that gifted.
The question: where can he get motivation from if it isn't goals? He's not retarded, he knows goals aren't going to motivate him because he CAN score at will. Compare this to Eller: if he scores, he'll be on cloud 9.
I truly think that Martin has to re-unite "the" line. He needs to be put back with a defensive specialist in Plekanec and he needs to learn by watching Pleks that work ethic comes first. No more of this floating ********.
