Hockey Pants

I'm looking into buying new pants. I am currently wearing an old Bauer girdle but it no longer fits.

What would you guys recommend, the Bauer ONE95 or Bauer X:60 pants? I'm interested in a mobile light-weight pant.

Thanks in advance

given from what the manufacturer's site say, i'd go for the x60 in your case.

I love my Tackla 9000's for mobility and protection. I don't notice the weight.

I had a pair of Vapor XXV's (equivalent to X:40's) and they REALLY lacked protection. Very light weight and mobile though. The X:60's have more padding and a better spine guard though.

I have a couple friends with One90's (pretty close to One95's) and they like them. A bit less of a tighter fit but still good protection.

I really think the Reebok 7k and 9k pants are fantastic this year, especially for the price.

And if you want the highest mobility and light weight, get the One95 girdle with a shell, which is basically the same thing you're using now in a size that fits.

Aren't girdles kinda going out of style? I've had a girdle for such a long time that I don't even remember what it's like to where pants (no pun intended). So basically what I'm saying is I don't mind trying something new

Any vapor pant for light weight and mobility with little sacrifice on protection go the supreme route if you want lots of protection.

Both are mobile and lightweight, the Vapors are a snugger fit in the thighs.

Why not just replace the girdle? Many people still use them and swear by them.

Personally, I'm all about the Bauer 5000 pro pant. I made some mods, removed some padding from the 5000s and they are BY FAR my favorite pants I have ever owned. I have brand new Pro stock Tackla 5000X, Pro stock Jofa 7000s and have (recently) owned CCM 520s as well as retail one90 pants. None of those pants are even close to being on the same level as the Bauer 5000.

I feel like most hockey players wear pants for a reason. I currently have a girdle but I feel like a switch to pants might be a good idea. Do you think I'd be a lot less mobile in the X:60s?

What if I were to throw the S19's into the mix? Would they be the most mobile of them all?

I prefer pants because the few times I've tried on girdles they seemed like a pain to put on. Then again I'm lazy.

I don't mean to take the thread off topic, but I'm curious to know of all the players that wear pants, do any of you wear suspenders?

My pants are nice and snug, but I still wear suspenders. Paranoid of having my pants fall off I guess.

I don't because I have enough of a belly to hold them up.

Thanks for the reply! I guess I should be okay with no suspenders, since I too have enough of a belly

...because it's easier to buy(more options)/use(it's not a two part process) a hockey pant over a girdle/shell.

Most I've seen that try a girdle/shell don't go back.

I'd got with the Bauer Vapor X-60. Got a pair couple months ago and just love them, pretty light and very agile

I'm starting to like my CCM gear (specifically the lower stuff, pants and shins) less and less with each game. I feel like the pants and shins that CCM are really bulky compared to other gear that I've seen guys play with.

Right now I have all CCM U+ 10 stuff. I'm going to get a different set of shins by next season. Something with a much lower profile and less bulky. If the different shins don't help enough, I'm getting a different set of pants. The lower body CCM stuff just seems too bulky. I'm a great skater without pads on and skating with the CCM shins and pants seems like a huge hindrance.

I prefer girdle/shell myself. I like the snug, mobile fit. Pants seemed too bulky, and not protective enough for me. They were cheap pants though.

But growing up playing roller I've just gotten used to a girdle. I wear the Tackla one

I just switched from pants to a girdle, and it's 100% better. My girdle makes me more flexible and offers more protection I was getting from Bauer XXV pants!

It is harder to get on, I have to jump like a teenage girl trying to get on a pair of tight jeans...but I think its worth it.

Does this girdle make my ass look fat? Oh sorry, wrong forum.
