There is no way Cleary gets 30 or Datsyuk gets 50.

Talk about unrealistic hopes. Under for all except maybe Zetterberg.

Nice topic!

Abby: under now that he's relegated to the 4th line.
Cleary: over since him and Bert are now BFFs.
Z: over now that Fil has got that 2nd line C spot on lock down.
Pavs: under, Red Wings just don't score 50 goals.
Mule: under since Jiri Hudler was given that 2nd line spot.

Alright, well what about Z, Dats and Franzen each scoring over 30?

Abdelkader - Under - 15 - not nearly enough ice time to reach 20 imo

Cleary - Under - 25 - he's currently on pace for 38 and he's been playing out of his mind. Keep in mind that Clears has never scored over 20 goals in a season, let alone come close to 30. It's a Clarke MacArthur style anomaly that will level out over the balance of an 82 game season.

Zetterberg - Under - 28 - Z simply does not shoot the puck enough. He would easily be the team's primary goal scorer if he adopted a mentality like Franzen where you let it rip when you get a look.

Datsyuk - Under - 30 - Pav is on pace for 33 and has never scored more than 32. I would bet my house that he doesn't eclipse 40, let alone 50.

Franzen - Under - 35 - close, but no cigar. Still the team's most consistent sniper and I have the utmost faith that he'll get at least 30, barring injury.

Babcock's coaching strategies just aren't conducive to our star players doing much stat compiling. You rarely see the big guns out late in games to run up the score with a comfortable (3+ goal) lead, he rarely employs ZDH for offensive zone faceoffs when the other team ices the puck, and powerplay time is evenly divided between the 1st and 2nd units, which is uncommon for almost every other team with multiple offensive superstars. Detroit Lions fans are familiar with the "GET IT TO CALVIN" refrain and that's how Washington, Tampa, and Pittsburgh run their powerplay. The Wings rely much more on creativity and freewheeling than executing set plays. I bet if you posted Z at the dot in the right hand circle and set up the Stamkos/Ovie one-timer, you'd see a marked improvement in our powerplay.

Abdelkader- Under 20 . Time between 3rd and 4th line wont warrant 20 + goals and w top 6 solidified, it will be hard to get more ice time.

Cleary- Under 30. His scoring touch goes in streaks and has never scored more than 25 goals in a season.

Zetterberg- Over 30. One reason and one reason only. Once he gets it going, hes hard to keep off the scoring sheet. This will allow Z eventually to score over 30 goals for the year.

Datsyuk- Under 50, lol. While he has never scored more than 32, he is our Point Guard... No really, hes just a really good passer.

Franzen- Over 40...I have always thought Frazen will be the next RW to 50. I think its this year. Stay tuned

If we look at the scoring from all players, we finally have balanced scoring where we could see all time lows/highs for some players

Sorry, thought we were dealing in reality (Silly me)

What if....Every player on the team scored 13 goals..........Same result.

My point is that we're on pace for over 300 goals. We didn't even reach that mark with Hossa. So this unexpected team goal total would force most people to reevaluate individual goal totals. Don't be so literal.

And my point is that we do not rely on 5 players to score 60% of the teams goals. The Wings have too many good players and will get scoring from all four lines as well as their defense, so with that in mind, I think the only player to have a statistical shot at being over would be Hank
