Drury was supposed to be back by this Friday. 6 weeks. He can't grip his stick. Drury saw Dr.Posner(hand specialist)two weeks ago and had another set of x-rays. The Rangers didn't give any info on how that visit went.

Against Calgary, Yes I'd rather have Boogaard then Drury. White & EC are the Two I fully expect to be waived to make room for Drury and Prospal. EC has been waived by several other teams in the league and well White was traded for Brashear so that doesn't say a whole heck of a lot for Drury.

The veteran limit only comes into play regarding the gameday roster. They could send him down there and not play him if they are up against the limit.
Players on 1 way contracts can't be sent to the ECHL without their permission, and Charlotte isn't even our affiliate any more. They are in the AHL now and our ECHL affiliate is the Greenville Road Warriors.
Looks like the reinforcements of Drury and Prospal might be back even later than expected. Which is not the end of the world, considering the good play of Brian Boyle and Derek Stepan recently.
As long as they both get back with enough games for the team to get adjusted before playoff time then fine, I suppose.
I don't get the White hate. He's a solid 4th line player to have. I'd actually play him over Avery at the moment, to be brutally honest.

I still see Stepan as the logical choice to go down. Maybe the send White but when both Drury and Prospal are back I just don't see room for the kid unless another injury occurs.
YEAH! There's no room on this squad for a young kid with vision and passing ability.
Torts stated about 2 weeks ago Vinny would return in mid to late December. He hasn't skated yet. December 1 is next Wednesday. Late December will probably be the target date unless they push him back.

Does anyone know what type of surgery Prospal had?
Are we talking a repairing of the meniscus? That is the only thing I can think of that makes sense in terms of the time frame. Don't see any ligament injuries making sense. Plus I could understand the concern over his career if his meniscus was really messed up and they left him in a bone on bone situation.

Are you kidding me? He's getting a CT of his freaking finger!!!! I intern at hospitals (I'm an x-ray student) and have been in CT rooms and have never even seen that done before! Isn't he a hockey player? What happened to the days when hockey players would just tape the broken finger to another one and play?

The way the cap works is that the season is divided into days. There are 186 days in the season this year. Each day that a player is on the NHL roster, he counts against the cap. Every day that White is on the roster, he's costing us $12,769 against the cap. Kennedy would have only cost $2,957 per day.
That might not seem like a lot, but that can add up quick. If we had sent White down instead of Kennedy, we would have saved between 1 and 1.5 mil by the trade deadline. That much money would have allowed us to acquire a player with a 4 mil or even 5 mil cap hit at the trade deadline, because the cap hits are prorated.
So yes, having him on the roster is wasting our cap dollars.

If you cant wrap your head around it you may have to big of a head. Firstly 2 things he offers and only 2 things PK and Faceoffs, both of which can be done by other players who offer more than 2 things. His defensive play is not good, just take a look at his plus minus with the Rangers to see that. He takes up valuable ice time and looks awful out there, not brining intensity and grit that this team tries to pride itself on nor is he brining skill. He is a terrible example for other players on this team because they see a supposed C playing so the way he does and really hurts the team identity. I really cant get over the fact they kept White on the team over Kennedy, i really cant typical for the Rangers i guess always having 2 bad moves for 1 good one.
