All star game/voting so far

Ive not really been on here much since originally joining, mainly due to studying for a law degree! But just came across this and thought people would like a look at it. http://www.nhl.com/ice/news.htm?id=544313

Flyers are doing pretty well in it, bob is second in goalies (pretty good for a write in), pronger and kimmo are both in top 5 d-men, richards is 6th among forwards, giroux and briere are 11th and 12th, and carter is 17th. Pretty good really, just upset no-one is showing leino much love! What does everyone think of the voting so far (i know its the all-star game and not too many people care!)

meh Meszaros isn't an all star, even though he has played well

I understand that Meszaros and Coburn and Leino don't belong up there.

But in that same regard, P.K. Subban does not belong up there. Bobrovsky really doesn't either.

I can't believe Toews has more votes than Stamkos

Only Canadiens and Team Canada make the all star team so I don't vote.

I don't buy into the voting system. I've said it before.

Giroux is pretty high for a write in as well. Good to see so many Flyers up on that list.

I think Meszaros has been our best Defenseman this year. Pronger has looked pretty bad to me, but he is Pronger and will be nice to have come playoff time.

Ugh, I know!

Anyway, there are a bunch of flaws on the list, but the positive......Flyers are definitely getting some respect. Good stuff.

Wow... Giroux is way past anyone for write ins, pronger and timonen in 3rd and 5th and bob is second among goalie votes?

Good to see the fans flooding the polls

need to keep bob in the top 2 because theres no way the NHL would vote a philly goalie as a starter in an ASG. He'll still be in the rookie game though.

oh, and wtf is with toews, ahead of stamkos? really?

I like how Mark Streit, who is out for the season on IR, has 2500 votes.

Some of the voting is a joke, i cant believe liles and brent burns arnt higher up, id say theyve been top in top 15 d men in league so far this year, i know theyre both considered offensive d-men, but theyre both solid in own end, probably better than green! and both add flair. And i cant believe partick sharp is getting so few votes, hes been the best chicago forward this year (still have a soft spot for him too, hated it when he was traded!) and i think mikko koivu is overlooked, brings a lot to the game. The streit votes made me laugh!

The voting system sucks (in all sports, not just the NHL). I think Ken Griffey Jr. got the most votes last season.

My ballot:

Stamkos
Richards
Giroux

Pronger
Timonen

Bobrovsky

Pretty homerific. What can I say though Stamkos is a ****ing beast.

Same except replace Richards with Ovechkin and Timonen with Doughty.

Great to see all the support for the flyers, and bobrovsky second in goalies wow, says alot about what hockey fans think of him.... however not sure I want to see him in the game, not sure if he understands its just shinny hockey and hes gonna get ripped, dont want to hurt his confidence in anway

I've thought voting was a joke since the starting lineup 2 years ago was all Canadiens IIRC

Says a lot about how much Philly fans like him, but that's it.
