I suppose you're right. 10/1564 years in his NHL career isn't even 1%

So Jason Smith who was our captain for a year= short stint
Fedotenko at 2 full seasons = short stint
JR here 3 seasons=short stint
Forsberg playing over 100 games for us=short stint
Upshall who essentially was here 2 full seasons=short stint
Prospal who we drafted, had in the system 5 years played more NHL games with us than Grieg also equals short stint.

but Greig who played THIRTY games (and about 2% of us even remember I bet) doesn't equal short stint? OK I give up. Since there are now 2 of picking on me I'll just give and say that you are absolutely right and Greig was not a short stint. He was a long stint and I would like my first post stricken from the record.

Dmitri Tertyshny, Pelle Lindbergh, Barry Ashbee, Bob Dailey, the goalie who had the heart attack in Vancouver, all the guys whose careers ended here. Not morbid, feeling a sense of loss I guess. I've always felt the Flyers had more than their share of these.

I would disagree with Prospal. But the rest I would agree more with. 2 seasons in the organization is relatively short compared to 5.

exactly. compared to normal players, it's like he played half a period and got traded mid-game

The 30 games was over 4 seasons, so, no that does not equal a short stint. And most probably don't recall those games because he scored a grand total of 5 goals and 7 assists. However, you can include me in that 2% as I do remember good old number 9.

But, again, Mark Greig was not primarily signed for the Flyers. He was signed as a veteran presence for the Phantoms and as an injury callup.

And, that would apply to Little as well. Despite playing only 93 minutes for the Flyers he was with the organization for 12 seasons. That also does not equal a short stint.

My list is from the Short Stays Department:

Jari Kurri

Dennis Ververgaert (decent-scoring former Vancouver Canuck)
Mike Bullard (severely underrated player)
Ray Allison (used to be Propp's linemate with the Brandon Wheat Kings)
Dale Hawerchuk (already mentioned)
Darryl Sittler (always enjoyed his game)
Michel "Bunny" Larocque (was Ken Dryden's backup for years)
Ron Flockhart (anyone remember "Flocky Hockey"?)
Garry Galley (put up BIG points from the blueline for crappy early-90s teams)
Black Jack McIlhargey (the man could THROW)
Robbie Moore (went 3-0-1 in 78-79 with two shutouts; biggest Flyer mystery to me why he played only one more NHL game - for Washington four years later - before disappearing)

Always loved JR but after watching him cry when the Hawks beat us last year... rubbed me the wrong way. I understand he played much longer there and all but whatevs.

His height was an issue, being 5-5 but he was exposed in that dreadful 1979 playoffs series against the Rangers. Remember the image of him climbing the glass at MSG chasing a Rangers' fan who spit at him after one of the PO games? Pat Quinn said after the game, something like "They threw money at me and I collected $20."

The Flyers acquired Phil Myre that summer as the vet replacement for Wayne Stephenson and Pete Peeters won the role as the second goalie beating out Moore and Rick St. Croix.

As an aside, the only game Moore played in for Washington, he came off the bench and gave up a goal to Brian Propp in a game against the Flyers and suffered the loss.
