Fire Murray

Time's up on this clown.

I've seen enough. Do the right thing Eugene.

I fully endorse this option and I look forward to the day he's done here

I don't agree with that. We are far more Sensible. We don't go nuts after every loss and plan a parade after every win. We don't have unreal expectations from our prospects. Well, at least I don't.

Murray's had a fair amount of time. He didn't get it done. He needs to go.

This team gets hot and just as many people start singing his praises....his time is coming to an end here and at the right timing but I think coaching decisions are killing us more right now...GMs hands are tied most of the time.

They won't fire/hire now.
If it happens, it happens if we miss the playoffs/get bounced in round 1.

Also, Tim Murray will be the new GM because he's a Shawville boy and Gene is too lazy too look elsewhere.

I'm not defending Murray, but this is his last year for s ure, and he won't be fired, so we're just gunna have to wait it out.

This loss isn't because of a lack of talent, it's because of a lack of giving a ****. Is this a coaching problem, perhaps a leadership problem?? Not to question alfie, but why isn't he getting our guys motivated, if the coach won't do it, someones' gotta, right??

(BTW, I love Alfie, I just wish someone would throw a chair at Michalek or something)

I think its more a product of time finally catching up to this team.
Slowly, piece by piece, this team was dismantled, and I don't know that any GM with the pressure to win here could have done any better.

I don't know that there's any quick fix, firing the GM won't do anything at this point.
The best course of action (imo) is to just ride out the year, try to move pieces that won't be part of this core going forward for assets/future core and move forward with a new GM and a clean slate at the end of the year.

I pin this on Melnyk

Agreed, but his time is up.

Get him out of there before he makes a panic move with one of our prospects, or worse signs Kovalev or Shannon to an extension.

This team is old, dumb and slow......like their GM.

Yup pretty much this,

Yet another game where Clouston gets out-cooached he is just not maximizing the value of his players

The team is not perfect but they are pretty inconsistent and underachieving that's pith poor coaching.

Yes Murray picked the coach, big deal, coaches are hired to be fired

How many coaches have we had under Murray's reign as GM?

At some point, it's his fault.

Jesus. How many coaches does Murray get to fire? At some point you have to say "hey maybe the GM is hiring the wrong guys. His trading record doesn't look much better either.

I have held this opinion unwaveringly for many months. This team needs new blood both on the ice and in the front office.

good teams don't play this bad and then a week after play good. Phillips is over rated. Fisher is only along for the ride as is Michalek.

Murray inherited a good team but has screwed up the chemistry.

Murray inherited a team that had nothing in terms of prospects, and had lost Chara and Havlat the previous year and got nothing in return. We overacheived the year we went to the finals, and came crashing down to earth the next year after a great start. I'm not defending Murray, but at the same time don't act like this is all his fault. His predecessor had a lot to do with why we are the position we are in.

Assuming 92 points to get in, this team needs to play the remainder of the schedule at a 99 point pace to make the playoffs. At no point this year have they looked capable of that.

Looks like we'll be sellers. I don't want Murray anywhere near the team if we start trading guys away.
