Would have played Price in Atlanta and Auld against Buffalo. Atlanta would be much tougher.

I figured this would happen, because we play BUF at home on Saturday, but ATL does seem like a tougher opponent, especially considering the hot streak they're currently on.

He's almost guaranteed to get the start on December 31st (3rd game in 4 nights, play the Lightning the night before).

The headline writers can already start thinking up some Auld Lang Syne puns.

I guess we make sure we at least get 2 points against Buffalo. Atlanta is flying

We also have back-to-back games twice before:

DEC 10-11 @DET, @TOR
DEC 15-16 PHI, BOS

Do you think they'll give all four to Price even if all opponents are tough?

They want Carey Price to play at home, IMO.

I'd give Auld the start in TO. Habs need to get over their Leaf issues and treat them as any other team. Plus, Auld has good career numbers against them.

Happy for him he has been patient and it seems like a good mentor. Bouchard was saying he always has a smile and in the end I would prefer Price not playing more then 60-65 games, no use overworking him.

Price shut them out the last time they faced the Leafs.

Price was great in the 1st game of the year in Toronto while being sick if I'm not mistaking even rumors he might have missed the game and last weekend again was great against them. He isn't the problem, Leafs just seem to have our number in the last couple of years with any goalie we have had, Theodore, Huet, Halak

My Leaf comment had nothing to do with Price, but with the fact that (as H4L stated) the Leafs always play us well and I think it's high time we turn that trend around. Other teams wouldn't hesitate a second to start a backup against the Leafs, and we shouldn't either. That Auld has good numbers against the Leafs makes the decision even easier.

Price gets the contenders in Detroit, Philly and Boston, Auld gets the lowly Leafs.
