JR talks about Subban and Richards

J.Roenick on Fan590 talking about Subban and respect
J.R. said in brief that he loves the way Subban plays, everything he does has nothing to do with disrespect....he never slashed, hit from behind, or suckerpunched anyone. He went up to Richards man on man and said to him... your the top dog and I'm gonna take you out" Richards just couldn't take it

In short was saying this kid backs up his talk with his skills and is amazing for the game.

This is shockingly old news. JR needs to move on more than Habs fans.

Wasn't this like a week ago?

And who cares?

In case you weren't aware, P.K. Subban doesn't even rank in our top 100 concerns on the Flyers' board.

You guys can obsess over Richards all you want, but I doubt Subban's even really on Richards' radar outside of a small blip in one game. Subban isn't worth our time until he proves he's worth our time, and it's not like he's even in our division.

So please. No more Subban vs. Richards threads. Okay?

Between seeing him twice a week on Battle of the Blades and this, I've seen and heard enough out of JR to last a year.

The only people who have cared about this from the start have been Habs fans.

Love JR. Will always love JR.

But...

He's always had a mouth on him. I take it all with a grain of salt, and even though I enjoy the way he speaks his mind, just the fact that he speaks his mind does not make him correct all the time.

This time he is not correct.

Richards took it by beating him. He beat Subban last year, and he beat him this year. A 3-0 shutout on the 2nd night in a back-to-back when Richards' was frustrated about the score does not equal Subban calling out the "top dog" nor does it mean Richards couldn't handle it.

He didn't whine. All he did was answer the media's questions. If you want to blame anyone for this nonsense, blame the Montreal media. They're the ones that created it. Then blame yourselves for blowing it out of proportion.

Like I said, Subban is barely a blip on Richards' radar. He's not good enough to be anything more than that yet.

Who is disrespecting JR? Just because he's a former Flyer doesn't mean he has some kind of authority. He has an opinion just like everyone else. I love JR as much as anyone else, but I'm not going to let him inform my opinions.

Flyers now 7-2 vs. the Canadiens when Subban dresses.

Who can't handle what?

JR fell out of my good graces when he was crying after the blackhawks won the cup saying how they did what he couldn't do and got all mushy.

JR has actively spoken about how his best times were in Philly if I recall correctly. He loved the city and the fans.

EDIT: Watch @ 4:13.

He started his career in Chicago as well.

He's a heart and soul guy, and wears that on his sleeve.

I think he would've gotten mushy regardless of who won.

You mean the same JR that used to "whine" about Darcy Tucker's theatrics?

Subban's a helluva player but he always seems a little too theatrical which is disrespectful to the game.

I watched him in the WJCs and anytime he had a penalty called against him he would make a diving jesture, last year's playoffs he followed around the linesman for 2 minutes beggin for a 4 minute PP, and in general he is very yappy when he has refs in front of him.

JR is not a legend in Philly. JR above all, while fun to watch and listen to while here, ultimately was a disappointment.

Exactly. I always loved Roenick as a player, and I think you could fairly say he was a legend in Chicago...but Philly? Not so much.

This is why it annoys me that we booed him. I hope it doesn't continue.

Subban has not earned our boos.

Boos always come to those who deserve them. He pissed off multiple players on our team enough that our captain felt he had to speak up.

I liked JR as a player, but he always blabbed a little too much and here he went on about a situation he wasn't completely in the know about.

Additionally, he'll say different things to different audiences. When he called into Philly's WIP last year he said he'd be rooting for the Flyers because he still held a grudge against Chicago for trading him. However, he clearly didn't seem to care about that when the Blackhawks won and he started crying. So it doesn't surprise me in the least he takes the Hab's side on a Canadian station.

Also, he was on the radio over a week ago, why do we need a thread about it now.
