I think we get a Dman once Markov's time frame is established....lots of caproom when Markov goes LTIR

how sweet would jerome iginla be playing for the habs and cammalleri again. One can only dream. (sigh). Hypothetically, who do you think we would have to give up for him, realistically.

Well we would be dealing with Sutter so anything is possible but I would say youth guys like Tinordi,1st rounder, Pacioretty I'm sure would be targets but cap wise I don't think we would be able to make it work unless Spacek or Hamrlik go the other way.

Probably Eller and a 1st or another good prospect(Tinordi/Kristo/LeBlanc).

the cap space for sure i am aware of. But lets say markov is out indefinatly( god i hope he isnt) then his cap hit wouldnt count because of it would be a longterm injury right?

Will it be since the day of his injury or only when we'll know what's up with him. In that case, every week that we are waiting for an answer is less money for us to spend.

And please no to Satan, I'd try Pouliot on a top line, or even Max Pac before even considering signing Satan.

It's time for my monthly pining for Saku. His 13 points (including 9 goals that would lead the Habs), as well as his 53.5% FO% (Gomez at 49.5%) would be mighty sweet right about now.

I'll pass on the salary numbers...

Maybe we can pull a fast one on Sutter. Take Markov + picks, you'll have a shot at signing him. (Yeah cause Markov would want to sign with the Flames especially now with Iginla gone )

PS: Can we really say we're a better team without Saku? I don't know what the locker room was like with him but honestly I don't think he would've been a bad signing either way. Obviously we're a better team since rebuilding but I mean to say take out a 3rd liner and plug Koivu into the 3rd line, our team imo instantly becomes better.

I really hope he signs with the devils. That would be a very good marketing opportunity for the NHL.

Because the whole Satan to Montréal was debunked a long ass time ago, but Gamblor isn't smart enough to know that.

If placed on long term I believe the money is freed up but in case if a return we are kinda screwed. Also Iggy is making 7+ if I'm not mistaking, that's 2 more than Markov. I would love to see him here but I don't think it will happen unless they want Gomez

Anything is possible with that guy, when people say Gainey and now Gauthier are bad, OMG imagine we had Sutter running the show here.

For sure, people complain about Gomez it would be even worse paying Oli Jokinen 5 million

If we were to sign a vetran to add to our depth, I'd much rather it be Bill Guerin than Satan.

Sweet Jesus, certainly there's someone out there that's got to be better than Satan. I'd rather try Guerin or at least give the kids a chance to show what they can do. Satan sucked, sucks and will continue to suck.

Would

Markov
Eller (or Tinordi) but only 1 of them
Patches
1st round pick

be fair to get

Iggy?

considering that Markov is really a UFA. We could also talk to Markov prior to pulling the trigger and telling him we want to resign him in the summer.

If we can get him cheap, for this reason and this reason alone we should sign.

I would take Owen Nolan over Guerin anytime. At least, Nolan can still skate.

Take Markov out of the deal and it'd probably be fair... I don't think I'd do it, though. Unless I was 100% sure we'd get the Cup.
