Gallagher and Leblanc are no surprise because they were at summer camp.
Bournival on the other hand, I believe didn't make the summer camp but got invited to this one. Good accomplishment and reward for his strong play so far.
I think all three have a very legitimate chance of making it too
Could you imagine having 3 prospects on the best Junior team in the world?
Plus Sean Couturier will inevitably play for the Habs at one point soooo there's that too
LOL. Let's wait for Crosby to join his childhood team first.
I think Leblanc's spot is his to lose. I don't know about Gallagher or Bournival though. I think they'll make it next year but I think Gallagher is a long shot. Bournival might have a better chance because he is versatile and can play in all situations.
Yeah Kristo is too old and I doubt Tinordi makes it. He was cut from the summer camp IIRC and he isn't exactly lighting up the OHL. But with Fowler in the NHL maybe he takes his spot, who knows.
Isn't Kristo to old? and Tinordi will be in tough, US has a lot of returnees and they are stacked on D.
Kristo is too old.
Tinordi probably won't make it. Got cut at summer camp.
Usually, these tournaments don't lend well to players who are overly physical or one dimensional.
Tinordi doesn't bring as much offense. While he probably brings more physical play and defense than most of the other guys in consideration, IIHF tournaments are not the most physical kind.
Leblanc's the only one who should be disappointed if not invited. The other two could, but frankly this invite is a positive in and of itself, a goal they've accomplished. If they go farther, fantastic, but if they don't it's no surprise.
A surprise that might not be one.....Leblanc not making it. Again an injury comes into play this year that might refrain him to play his game. There still a lot of competition at the forward position and frankly, it's possible that Gallagher goes into camp in better shape than Leblanc will. Gallagher can play the role that Gabriel Bourque played. I don't see Bournival as a legitimate contender.
