I've suggested Bob Boughner before. I agree that a coaching change should help this team.

By playing a defence oriented game this team could compete on a nightly basis, however addressing the obvious lack of scoring ability will be the only way to take this team to the next level.

He's doing it right now in Columbus.

2-time (consecutively) OHL and CHL coach of the year.
Great with young players.

His teams are considered very defensively responsible and believe me, the group in Columbus did not get to 4th in the west because the of the quality of their players. Believe me, Mathieu Garon is not the best Goaltender in the league, but right now he looks like it. I don't know if that's a random hot-streak, or if its attributable to the system the team is playing... but the boogeyman gets results.

The whole is if they do take stupid penalties Wilson should be holding them accountable instead of feeding their egos.

Is he coaching now? This is a stupid thread, a failed attempt to show a picture of a coach that you don't give any information on... I am sorry but everyone on here doesn't know all CHL coaches

He's an assistant in Columbus. I'm sure he could get out of his contract there if a head coaching job came his way that he was interested in.

I'm fully in favor of hiring Boughner as head coach of this team.

Agreed. Baughner would make an excellent coach for TO.

Maybe in the off-season but I really don't think Columbus lets anyone talk to him while they are 2nd in the West in points (4th because of division leaders). Is there anyone who is available now, otherwise sadly we are going to have to wait to the off-season.

This.

Or bring in Boughner and Dougie as the assistant. Would love to see these players pull this **** with these two behind our bench.

I thought that maybe if I just make a suggestion and let people see the pros themselves, rather than being told, they might have a better response to the whole thing, but since you've asked for an argument here it is.

Boughner is a 12 year NHL Veteran Defenceman who was well-respected and known for being extremely tough and fearless. He was well liked around the league and even became a key member of the NHLPA

He bought the Windsor Spitfires in 2006 and became the President, C.E.O. and head coach. He won Back to Back OHL and CHL head coach of the year in 08 and 09. AND the Spitfires won the OHL championship and Memorial Cup in 09 and 2010.

He then coached the Canadian National Under-18 team to a dominant victory of the IVan Hlinka Tourny. Undefeated.

He has joined the Columbus Blue Jackets as an Assistant Coach and their record has jumped from 32-35-15 (0.481%) to 14-7-0 (0.667).

His teams are known for being very defensively responsible, and he's unbelievable with young players which is perfect for our rebuilding team. He's a character guy. He's a hockey guy. He's a coach that a player can believe in.
that's my argument.

Let's Sign him and fire Wilson.

What's worse, the fact that Wilson should have been fired a long time ago or the fact that the relationship between him and Burke will keep him here?

The trend is always like this:
Leafs lose 5 games in a row, Wilson is in the hot seat.
Leafs win 3 of their next 4, Wilson's job is safe.
repeat the process, and Wilson will never be fired!

If this team wants to get rid of Wilson, they need a 14 game losing streak like the Islanders.

It's been said before and I'll say it again, Wilson cannot make a low-talent team better, he can only coach teams where the talent level is already high (San Jose, Team USA).

His constant "run and gun" style does not fit this team. We need a defensive coach like Ruff

According to a reliable source--- if the leafs lose tomorrow night like they did tonight.... bye bye ronny. You heard it hear first. I know nobody will believe me but i expect high praise when I am proven correct.

Can someone tell me where the Leafs PP and PK rank as of right now? I think they are close to being dead last in each category again. If so, how can this coach continue this historically bad feat. Its been done only twice in the history of the sport and Wilson has coach each team that did it, can it actually be done a third time? WTF?

I wouldn't doubt it but if we win Wilson will live to see another day.
