Our first period was alright until that deflating goal. Must have sucked the life out of us since we were completely dominated the following period. Compete level wasn't there as soon as we fell behind.
Need that first goal to dictate the game. I don't think it's a coincidence we win games where we score first. We can't play catch-up hockey, our top 6 needs potency.
Felt like we were playing Philly-lite. Atlanta's coming along nicely and all this after Kovalchuk leaves...go figure.
Despite playing our worst game of the season and our backup in net, the 3 goals in regulation streak is still alive. This game could have been much uglier.
Seriously, if the habs put forth that type of effort with their backup in and you can only notch 3, either the ghosts won't allow more than 3, or you're not going to do as well as your fanbase believes you will.

Someone check this out. Do we have the highest shutout:loss ratio in the league? It seems like half the time we lose we get shutout and don't even put up a fight.
Not sure why people are saying Atlanta is worst than us. It's not who's behind who in the standings. It's who you fair better with. And we don't have the players to deal with fast and gritty opponent, who's in your face every single time you have the puck. Atlanta did that tonight. They won easily. Fortunately for us, it's not all the teams that can play that system. You will see that tomorrow.....
This is true. Styles makes fights. Although I don't think it should be an automatic loss. Not our best kind matchups but if the execution is there, they're still winnable games.
If Gomez continues to play like he as for the last 22 games I can't see us having any success in the next 4 years.
He had atleast had 1 open net and he couldn't even burried it...
We got only 4 player producing like top 6 players... I really hope our prospect in Palushaj/Paciorretty/Eller pans out. If not, it's gonna be a hard future for the habs.
how do you not think we can be a dominate team with either markov or subban on the ice for almost the whole game? they both control the play when they're on the ice, they make our powerplay more dangerous, the breakout becomes better, and guys like gill and spacek get less ice time.
what's our record without markov this year?
is it not pretty good even without him, right before he got hurt we started to look like we weren't going to lose.

Sad but true.
Gomez is a likable dude, but is hockey powers are diminishing...

Markov is one player. This team with Markov has big holes.
Were the Habs pissed or something tonight because Auld played or what? They didn't give the guy any support at all..
Honestly I'm surprised the Habs have the record they do with a PP that sucks as bad as theirs do.. PG will soon have to address that concerning issue with his team...
