I don't think Hank needs to play tonight to gain confidence... He needs to find his groove. Remember, he's use to playing 10 games in a row.

Nice, Gilroy hasn't been awful, but he's still a bigger video nerd than I am and his shot is weaker than a limp-wristed fruit throwing a baseball.

Welcome back Rozy!

Thanks for the updates fellas. And reading that one tweet, it's pretty obvious that Hank will start... Ride the momentum.

Go Hank!

I don't understand why Torts broke up our best line!

I actually really like Boyle with Avery. Avery is great at making rebounds and Boyle has been good at sniping opportunities like that.

Add Prust into the mix and you just have a really tough, badass line. Prust forecheck combined with Avery's flashes of creativity leads to the lord, our god Boyle getting goals.

averyrule, the reason he broke them up is because they were awful for 5 straight games. i really liked dubi step and gabby last night. thats good enough reason for me.

This is like the fourth game I'll miss in a row, hopefully they can put up a W, I want a strong game from AA and D-Step.

That's what I was afraid was going to happen. That line has scored 3 goals in the last 5 games. That's not great but I don't feel like having a few bad games justifies breaking the line up entirely. Every line is going to have stretches of games where they struggle. I just wish Torts would have allowed them a few more games to get back on track before deciding to break them up. Anyway, that's just my opinion.

I thought Gilroy has been playing well - especially last game he had some time carrying the puck really well. It's like he's gaining confidence. Against Florida, there were a couple of times he was dangling around that I had to do a double take as to who was on the puck.

Go get em tonight fellas.

Some people really know how to jinx a goalie's goose egg. Why not get all Chico Resch on him while you're at it!

And we know for sure that it is Gilroy, and not Sauer, that is scratched tonight?

If Sauer is scratched, I'm taking a plane to Nashville, and strangling Torts with my bare hands.

I was gonna go on a whole Chico parody rant about shut outs and Avery flavored ice cream, but I didn't want to be blamed if we see no shut outs tonight.

And on the 27th day of November 2010 the legend began: "Stickless Chris Drury"
Couldn't grip his stick so he played without one, becoming the NHL's first specialized shot blocker extraordinaire!

i disagree, i think Gilroy has been pretty damn awful almost every game this season...his own zone play has been disastrous, mitigated only because Sauer is playing at a VERY high level, and hes brought 0 offensively to this team with just 3 assists, and i would reckon all secondary, in 17 games played. Michal Rozsival can't get in this lineup quick enough...

did anyone really notice rozsival out of the lineup???

The guy looks like he's skating in cement.

Not that I think Gilroy deserves to play over him, just saying

i sure did. everytime i had to see Matt Gilroy out there all i could think of was damn we miss Rozsival.

guy logs a ton of minutes and plays a solid 2 way game. he may not put up points, but what he does in the offensive zone, keep pucks in, etc, is way more valuable than Gilroys poorly timed pinches, or his rushes that almost always end up in turnovers against with him, a defenseman, trapped.

Not to mention, while it's not totally accurate, his shot is at least hard enough to make goalies work to save it, when he does hit the net.

God if anyone but Gilroy sits Torts better have a pretty creative excuse.

Gilroy has not been getting trapped; his pinches have been fine and he has been getting the puck deep. He is still weak along the boards and not strong enough on the puck in the d-zone. And of course his shot is weak. With that said you will be clamoring for him in four games or so because Rozi is slow and indecisive and has no offensive abilities left.

We dress 4 right handed d-men every night. Since Eminger has been decent, one of these guys should stick and a lefty should be promoted from Hartford (either MCD or V-Tank). The Pack has been defending pretty well; it's the scoring that has been the problem. You can demote Gilroy and play either Eminger or Rozi depending on who is going better while trying to trade both of them. If we're going to have holes on D I would rather they be young holes and Rozi and Eminger are both average to below average players at this point in their careers.

I know the Rozi lovers (who have come out of the wood work the last two months) will disagree but he is almost done. Trade him while has some value and get that contract off the cap.
