Give her a try! Throw eller with some offensive threats and maybe something good might come out of it.
This is exactly what I'd like to see, ideally later in the year, after Eller has had time working on his puck control and offensice awareness.

Yep, Gomez might seem to put in a little more effort, but he's an offensive black hole, and I actually have no problem with the way Cammy has been playing in the last couple games?
He's our best shooter, yet he's stuck on the line where every scorer goes to die.
Cut the BS and put him back with Pleks already.

difficult to look that far ahead, but will we keep being a playoff team?
i think subban and price are enormous foundation chips...
eller probably a strong two way center...
cammy and pleks will still be relatively young...andrei too
gio and gomez not so much...
so who can step in?
tinordi will be a nice pairing with subban
i think pacioretty replaces gionta
there is talk that leblanc will be made into a winger...
i guess my question and it is difficult to answer right now,
do kristo, leblanc and maxpac all have what it take to pick up
slack?
what about palushaj and avtsin?
This is too early to even evaluate what our team could look like next season.

Out of Leblanc, Kristo, Avtsin, Pacioretty, Palushaj and Tinordi, I expect 3 to actually match their potential (max 4 if we're lucky), and 2-3 to NOT match their potential. This is the way it goes in the NHL. You can't hit 1,000. Some bust some flourish.

If I had to guess:

- Leblanc will be converted as a winger.
- Palushaj, Pacioretty and Avtsin will be with the big club eventually, but one of them won't play top-6
- Plekanec will still be the Habs, just like Carey Price.
- Andrei Kostitsyn will not be a Habs. This is the thing with this guy: With what he's shown in the first 2 years of his contract, are you actually ready to give him a contract solely based on what he's doing this season so far, on the long term? This is risky, because the guy didn't prove he was able to consistantly do it year in and year out.
- I expect Pouliot to grow into one of our best scorers, and this day could be much less far away than people would suspect.
-Subban will likely eventually be named captain of the Canadiens

If I had to guess:

Depth chart 2015:

Pouliot - Eller - Leblanc
Avtsin - Plekanec - Palushaj
Pacioretty - UFA/Trade - UFA/Trade
UFA/Trade - UFA/Trade - White

UFA/Trade - Subban
UFA/Trade - UFA/Trade
UFA/Trade - Gorges

Price
UFA/Trade

The way he's keeping goals he'll get plenty of others this year anyway.

That being said, I watched CBC today. RDS is getting on my nerves. And ironically, it's Bouchard who annoys me to no end. Brunet actually improved this season.

Everybody go to TSN.ca and watch the game highlights. Tell me if you notice what she gets wrong.

Know what guys, we're a beastly Berlin Wall. We're like the best D team the league (behind boston who still needs to play games)

As for the Cammy and Plek thing. Let's just say they complete each other well but I still think Cammy needs Plek more.

I'm pretty sure that Cammy would produce more with Plekanec as his center than Gomez and I think Plekanec would just produce as much with Gio-AK, than Cammy-AK. So Cammy needs Pleky more than the other way around in my opinion.
It's very subjective, but what I'm sure of is that while Plekanec will always be great defensively, I think he created more things with both of Kostitsyn and Cammalleri on his line. As for Cammalleri, well quite obviously he's playing with a struggling (duh) center and a 4th line winger. In that aspect, considering our lack of top-6 forwards depth, and the fact Gomez isn't producing, I guess you could say Cammalleri does in fact lack Plekanec more than the other way around at the time being. I just don't think we take the best out of these two players by splitting them up.

Ultimately, I wouldn't mind if Martin was inclined to try Cammalleri (or any winger not put on Plekanec's line) with Pouliot and Eller. But that just doesn't seem to be the case. I'm also not a fan of calling Pacioretty up.

To be fair, earlier in the season he might have done something like that.

I only wish what she said was true.

And it's not hating against said player because I think he's been solid for us. I just don't want another year of him aging on our D corps.

With Hamrlik possibly out as well as Gill, there will be opportunities to make our d-core younger. That being said, the way Hamrlik has been playing this year so far, I wouldn't be surprised to see him re-signed short-term at around 3M.

The most amazing thing is by how much we're dominating the other clubs out there. Only 3 teams have allowed less than 60 goals. Only 2 teams have allowed less than 50 goals. In the East that is.

This, it was pretty obvious that Buffalo was targeting him, which is easy to do with no other real scoring threat on the line. Gomer has played poorly, but he is always more effective with a complementary scorer. He was at his best last year during Pouliot's hot streak.

I feel like Jason Lee in the film Mallrats whenever the Habs go on the PP

Me: "Why is Mathieu Darche on the GOD-DAMNED POWERPLAY AGAIN!!!!"

Seriousy......what the hell is Martin doing? darche can't shoot,stick-handle or pass......why is he out there?

Darche PP time this season/game = 0:54

Lars Eller = 0:10

10 measly seconds per game.......what a joke!

The kid needs confidence and to improve his awareness. What better way to help him than by putting him out there when we have an ADVANTAGE!!!

Our PP's should look like this:

PP1 = Kosty, Pleks, Gio, Subbs and Hammer

PP2 = Cammy, Eller, Pouliot, Spaceman and Picard

He goes to the net... Seriously I hate it also, but he works hard and Pouliot wasn't doing much... But i still would prefer Pouliot.

I hate that Martin does this, but I think it's obvious why Darche is on the PP, even if we all hate it.

yeah, I know he's out there because he crashes the net. what I was insinuating is that even if he crashes the net, he doesn't have the puck skills necessary once the net is crashed, in order to bury home his chances

There should only be offensive minded/skilled players out there on the PP. You have 1 more player than the other team....is playing defense really a priority? I would just send 4 guys towards the net in an overload formation and shoot from anywhere. keep one guy back at the point....bombard the goalie and get results. The Habs need to stop trying these fancy plays that only work in PRACTICE!!

lol i think the whole darche on the pp comes from the fact he actually 'volunteered' to stand in front of the net, as pathetically funny as that sounds, i think it's true

him and gionta and no one else. some of these guys need to grow a pair - oh and hamerlik on the pp? he's way too slow of a puck handler

Hamrlik's a clever player, but sometimes you gotta wonder when you see him out there with Subban how can a 21 years old make passes and handle the puck so easily, while a 15 years veteran struggles to just dump a puck on his backhand.

Talent really is a strange phenomena, but even then, Hamrlik was picked 1st overall...
