The kid has all the skill in the world and obvious potential to blow up and become a very special player, but he is struggling to find a place on the jackets team with the great play/emergence of players like mackenzie, wilson, dorsett, brassard, etc.. i hope that the jackets sit on him and keep trying to groom him into an NHL player, but what would he fetch right now? i could see the organization looking to move him for a piece(s) that will help them win now if they continue on a good pace, but what kind of value does he have on potential alone?
hypothetically, what would you be willing to move to give this kid a shot on your team?
he especially played with better players than Filly.
And Nikita plays his first all season.
i agree with you.. i really hope that we keep him because you can tell when you watch him that he's going to be amazing. i just can see the jackets organization (one trying to win NOW to bring fans back) moving him if he has enough value to bring them an upgrade that might help them.
I don't see many teams giving the value Columbus would probably want for Filatov in a trade.
A flight risk who refuses to go to the AHL would probably be on the top of the list of things dragging his trade value down. Columbus is in a tough spot, do they send Filatov to the AHL or do they keep him in the press box? Arniel is a great coach, I've been a fan for a long time, and I've been following him a bit this season. I can't say I've disagreed with his roster moves thus far.
The best place for Filatov right now is the AHL. Adjust to the North American game and boost his confidence. It isn't an insult, some of the best players in the league honed their skills in that league.
They are better. Goligoski is good in offensive but defensive? Second Stralman? Sorry, but no.
Again, until the others show what they can do in the NHL, they're not worth mentioning in the same breath as Goligoski. Much more highly-touted defense prospects have come to the NHL and flamed out.

Goligoski is better defensively than Stralman and while Moore and Goublef may have better potential than Goligoski let them make into to the NHL before calling them better players.

Moore may have better potential but I don't even think Goloubef has the same potential that Goligoski does. He just personally doesn't impress me. As CW said he's produced like a top 30 offensive defenseman since he's hit the NHL. Also, before getting hurt last year he was playing well in his own zone as well, and when he came back I don't think he was 100% the rest of the season and was a mess in his own zone. This year though he's been playing fine in his own zone. You'll never confuse Goligoski with Lidstrom but he's certainly better than Stralman in his own zone.
Plus Moore and Goloubef still haven't played in the NHL yet. You cannot possibly say they're better yet.

What? How are they better. Gologoski is a top-4 defenseman on a contending team. Moore and Goulobef(or whatever the hell his name is)are not even in the NHL.
I've always thought Nash on Staal's wing would be downright nasty, but I don't see either fanbases willing to give up the necessary parts to make it happen.
idk if there needs to be more added from the rangers or blue jackets since I do not get to see filatov a daily basis. But from what I have been hearing this is what I ended up with

1) Too much cap coming back to Columbus.
2) That's a very nice return for a "trade him to get him off the roster" scenario, but we'd like to improve the team in specific ways, such as on the power play.
