I might be wrong but I remember Calvillo being linked to the Pittsburgh Steelers at some point/they might retain his rights if he ever decides to head to the NFL.

Does anyone think someone like Damon Allen leads the NFL and CFL in all-time passing yards would have been able to make an impact in the NFL? I think Calvillo would at the prime of his career be 2nd or 3rd on the depth chart for NFL teams. McPherson was also a star in his college years if I remember correctly..

Congrats AL's
Living in Saskatchewan and being from Montreal, yesterdays Grey Cup Win was bitter/SWEET.
My thoughts and prayers go out to Calvillo (sp??), not sure how serious his situation is, I trust he will be fine.
Now to get our beloved HABS into a parade and then we will have a true city of champions.

Pretty good game last night. Had no real issues being the only Als fan in a sea of Riders fans. Good times, but the worst part was that Whyte Ave was fairly tame and dead last night with nothing but dejected Riders fans (and their adoptive brethren Edmontonians) milling around.

So what have we learnt about the Saskatchewan Roughriders the past two years?

1. They can't count
2. They're color blind and throw to the wrong team

Yeah I believe that was back when they won the first Grey Cup in '02. He went to the Steelers mini-camps if I remember correctly but didn't get a contract.

100% certain he worked out with the Steelers in '03. It was brought up often back in 2004 during his contract talks (entering his option year?).

No source, but I clearly heard them say it on tsn that "14 million watched at least a part of the game on tsn" or something like that.

Chris Berman was great tonight on Monday Night Football. "The Alouettes have proven that Ils peuvent aller la distance"! Great CFL segment on MNF.

Chris Berman loves Montreal. I remember him being here for the Centennial game and going to see Pierre Houde before the game. He is a huge hockey fan and respects the CFL a whole lot saying players such as Joe Theisman, Warren Moon, Doug Flutie, Jeff Garica etc. all had their professional start in the CFL.

I did not watch it, so that' impossible.

But in all seriousness, 14M is huge for TSN even if you include RDS. Are TSN/RDS available to 14M viewers?

Was listening to Calvillo this morning on team 990. Several things:

- he sounded very positive and happy

- he confirmed conditions at the hotel were not equal between the two teams. He said - "It's not the hotel's fault, they were great with us, it's the CFL's fault. It's written in the rules that both teams are to be treated equal - if they have a pool, we're supposed to have one too and so on - it was not like this". On the other hand it did not affect him or his players directly since they are used with changing from one training facility to another and facing adverse conditions. "As long as I have room service and a roof over my head, it's ok for me."

- the conservative, short pass game was designed to counter the agressive blitzing they anticipated from the Riders. Several technical comments on his passes to Jamel R and Kerry Carter.

- he sounded very optimistic about a possible return next year. The thought of beating the few remaining records for a QB in the CFL crossed his mind (but won't be the main reason for a return. He is playing well and he is enjoying the game a lot. He is great physical condition and the doctors keep reassuring him that no matter the result of the biopsy, they will get him in shape for the next season.

Anyone catched the other thing about that great hotel our Als were in? Seems that the floor was not reserved to the Als....Fans were there also....Fans from OTHER TEAMS were there....RIDERS FANS....Rooms beside our very own players making loud noises around 2 and 3 AM when Boulay, who was in the room next to them had to call security several times before they shut them up....

Seems that when we won and Boulay went back to his room, HE was the one making noise, singing and disrupting the other room next door.....
