Rangers second richest franchise in hockey

Great news, even in a struggling economy the Rangers are flourishing with an 11% increase in franchise value over just the past year... Hate to brag but god it's awesome being one of the wealthiest franchises in the league.

I'd be happier if the guy profiting from it wasn't an absolutely horrible owner.

Yeah, this isn't exactly a good thing consider Dolan is the one laughing all the way to the bank.

Sabres at $169 million...maybe that offer for $150 million was false after all.

I always love seeing this list, thanks for the heads up that it came out.

First off considering I see none of that money and contribute to it, it doesn't rly matter to me. Also I'd take being a winning franchise rather than a rich franchise all day any day, but that's just me.

I thought the same thing. I could care less if we brought in the least, as long as we win.

Up 11% after missing the playoffs... hmm.

Keep buying that merchandise and tickets, they'll keep going up.

Because they can. Why sell someone something for a dollar when they'll pay 10 for it? And after going to the Coliseum the other day, it's actually not that bad. 8.50 for a glass of labat out there vs 10 for a 22 of good beer + a souvenir glass
Sucks but that's just how it goes in NY.

And I actually like things like this.

When you compare the amount of resources and advantages this club has over nearly all of its fellow NHL teams, and look at the results, you should realize what a pathetic embarrassment of a franchise this is.

Just look at what the Nashville Predators do, and what they have to work with, the challenges they have to face. That tells you all you need to know about this franchise,

Dolan doesn't do positive correlations. Just the negative ones. But you would figure the team would at least have a few more playoff appearances under their belts.

Dolan economics:

"The team missed the playoffs. We need to raise ticket prices to account for lost revenue."

"The team made the playoffs. We need to raise ticket prices because we're putting out a superior product."

Granted, Rangers fans will continue going to games and supporting the team regardless, so from a purely economic standpoint I understand why Dolan does this. However, does he not have any ****ing compassion? These are the people who made you king of the world in 1994 and stuck with you during the ********* of times. The least he could do is not continue to jack up prices. I guess this is why I'm not involved in business. I wouldn't be able to find it within me to **** a bunch of people over despite their undying faith to my product just so I can buy my 8th private jet.

Great news? That means that everything Ranger related is going to go up in price.

I'd trade a wealthy ownership for a competent one.

As I don't see a cent of that, I could care less.

If anything, this is bad news. It reinforces what this owner has done as he has a very different idea for what success is in professional sports. These rankings and his bank account will say more than any "Fire Sather" rally ever will.
