For what it's worth, I think that if a players clears waivers and is eligible to be assigned to the minors and they refuse, that they can be suspended without pay and are in breach of their contract.

They only have to accept loan agreements.

The buzz I've heard though is that Sturm might end up on waivers to make room for Savard, in which case we might be able to pick up a top-nine winger for free. DL is familiar with him from SJ, as well.

It seems likely that Sturm is going to be put on Waivers.

Just saying.

Sturm would be a nice project I guess, But he is being waived for a reason.

Not a project, being waived for cap purposes...that's all it says.

Dean would have to make a trade to get Sturm, maybe a 5th or 6th round pick? He probably wouldn't fall to the Kings via waivers.

Even if strum hits waivers there is only a small probability that he would reach us.

who will logically find it necessary to throw $3Million dollars at Sturm?

New Islanders
New Jersey
Edmonton
Toronto
Florida
Buffalo
Calgary
Ottawa
Carolina
Minnesota
San Jose
Los Angeles

that's the waiver priority.

NYI would claim him pretty quick. They are dying for some Veteran leadership on the top lines.

dont forget DL also gave up another 1st to make that trade possible

Every time I start thinking about how stocked our system is (especially on D) and how tough allot of us, me included are at times on DL I remember that abomination of a deal and the total mishandling of the one player that we are still looking to replace.

I can deal with the DC mess and even the rest of the early signings but the squid situation still sticks in my craw.

Drew will score some goals and then everybody will be clamoring to suck him off again. LGK is pretty fickle.

If the Bruins think so little of him that waivers are the solution, then Sturm could probably be had for "futures", whatever that is.
