With all the crap being talked and the *****ing about his play,he is one of only two d-men playing now that is a plus, I hope this doesn't turn into another larry murphy deal where a hall of fame d-man ends up getting traded and leading someone else to a cup.

Very true, he could be a Modin type of trade. A conditional 7th round pick if the Kings win the cup.

May as well give Sturm a try. Does he still have his speed after the knee injuries? Anyone know?

Anyone like the play of David Booth tonight? What would it take to pry him from the Panthers and would he be a good fit for us on line 1?

I have mentioned him several times. He is very good at getting the pucks to the net. Potential 30+ goal scorer. He's skilled and would fit in great beside Kopitar. He's also a very fast skater and in his best years.

I don't think Panthers would trade him right now, but it's worth a try.

They would be interested in picks and prospects, something we have lots of. Come on Dean!

Just picks and prospects for Booth? I doubt Florida would be interested in a deal like that.

I would also include Simmonds if needed. Clifford could easily fil his role. The lines would look like this:

Booth-Kopitar-Brown

Smyth-Stoll-Williams

Poni-Handzus-Clifford/Richie

Richie/Clifford-Lewis-Westgarth

I'm sorry, but that's just too damn much. The highest, highest I'd go, is..........

To LAK: Booth + 4th round pick (2011)

To FLA: Hickey, Parse, and 1st round pick (2011)

And even that is questionable, based upon giving up the 1st rounder where most sane people would suggest, "no no, just give them TWO 2nd rounders". That said, Booth is the go-to guy in Florida.

He hasn't been as bad as some have made it out to be but he's only a + player because he's on the ice for even strength goals and very few of those have been a result of his work. Last night he showed much of what he did last year. His play could have easily resulted in a couple of goals. He made some nice pinches and some good rushes. The confidence is coming back I think.

Florida has no reasons to deal Booth, just don't see it happening. He is their only player worth a damn who's also under a good contract. They have prospects and picks up the waazoo and you think they'll deal their 26 yr old stud wing. Just don't see a reason for Them to do it.

I think him and kopi have been showing signs of being their oldselves, which is just what we need

Especially with Poni and Mitchell a week or two away from playing again.

NHL Roster freeze starts 12/19 and ends 12/27. Only 16 more shopping days for Lombardi.

What about Antti Miettinen from the Wild? They should be sellers and he probably wouldn't cost that much. I know he's not a big name but he's a good two way player who can pot 20+ goals. He could line up on the left side with Kopi and Brown.

For a playoff push? Maybe. But I don't think he'd be an answer for anything beyond this year. He only has one 20-goal season (last year) and I'd rather spend more to get more at this point in time.

Not a bad idea, though.

Yeah, he isn't great by any leaps or bounds. He would likely come cheap and upgrades the top 9...... More top nine than top line.... But it still would be an upgrade that would help the overall depth of the team... imo There just isn't that much out there.
