Bobrovsky: November Rookie of the Month

Knew it was going to be him this time

Second year in a row a Flyer became November Rookie of the Month. Last year JVR, this year Bob.

Lol, love this quote:

Quote:
"And if I'm not smiling he'll go, 'Jeff, what's the matter? You OK? Happy, happy?'" Reese said with a grin. "Because it seems like he's always happy.

So, Bob is going to steadily decline before falling off the face of the Earth while the person we should have drafted instead gets the Stanley Cup?

Jussi Rynnas is going to get traded to Phoenix and score the game winning goal against Bobrovsky.

Since you know...(according to Maple Leaf fans anyway), Rynnas was the top goalie out there, and they got him!

By the way, I did the math, and if JVR was getting 1150 EV minutes and 200 PP minutes (an average top 6 forward's minutes per season on a good team) this season, he'd be pacing at 48 points based on his numbers.

Like I said, I'm not concerned at all about JVR. He's getting royally screwed by our depth and was even more screwed by posts in the early season.

There is a difference between him getting the time and him earning it. He wasnt earning it. Its easy to blame it on bad luck, but I guess Lavy saw something else.

That being said, this isnt another thread on JVR. Bob has looked great. I hope they continue to play him for a few games, get the backup in during back to back games and give him breaks every now and then. I fresh Bob has looked very good.

He wasn't earning it against Richards, Briere, Giroux, Leino, Carter, and Hartnell.

It's not exactly easy to do that.

Some PP time would do wonders for JVR's point total.

I don't think the PP is quite doing any wonders for anybody's point total right now.

Bobrovsky is in the top 7 in save %(tied for #7 with .926), GAA(7th with 2.18), and wins(tied at 3rd with 12 W's). Probably needs some seasoning in the AHL at this point.

it would help him build his shutout totals, maybe come back up with a whole new level of confidence. it s just til they figure out which of leighton or boosh will be his backup say 5 or 6 games. why have two guys just sitting?

It's amazing how some people view the team through orange colored glasses.

Is it logically a possibility that Bob can play 60 games and the playoffs without experiencing what 90% of young goalies experience? Yes.

Is it likely? **** no.

I think Bob is the real deal but limiting his games to about 45-50 should be a goal once Leighton gets back.

i really cant see the Flyers dressing 3 goalies once Leighton is deemed ready to go. I would hope they they have a plan to deal Boucher for a draft pick and move on. I just cant see Bobrovsky going to the AHL.
Then again this is the Flyers so who knows what Holmgren will do.

I think most of us are afraid Holmgren will pull the loyalty card and keep Boucher and Leighton and send Bobs to the Phantoms where he will have win every game 0-0
yes I meant 0-0. The Phantoms cant score goals to save their lives. I believe they are last in the league in goals scored.
