It just doesnt help us for month or 2. They said he still is 2-3 weeks out..but before learning the system and getting into game shape..its gonna take awhile.

In a nutshell...we still need to step it up (especially over the next month).
He's been on the ice for a month, he's just not cleared for contact yet.

Good move. He has tremendous speed and will help the Kings PK and transition game. He will be fine on one of the top 2 lines. Kopitar should get more room with 2 speedy wingers.

With Poni on one PK unit and Sturm on the other, the Kings should rise back to the top of the PK percentage.

Waiting to see the confirmation of what we gave for him but I like Sturm, will bring some speed and some goals on the left wing.

Love the trade. We need a top-6 left winger, and he fills the void. He is a 20-goal scorer who will fit into our system.

I know we have to worry about his health, but the same goes for Smyth and Williams. I like the trade most of all because (a) we are not giving up much (5th round conditional pick, right), and (b) it can also light a fire under the current team's butt that something is needed.

I don't mind the trade for Sturm. I just would have preferred Fleishman or both.

Yep. Because when Dean sours on a player, he really sours.

If he passes the physical, I wonder what number he will wear. I believe he's #16 right now for the Bruins. Obviously that doesn't work. What did he wear with the Sharks?

Would you give up a player like Greene for Fleishman? That's the kind of player Washington would want. They wanted NHL ready dman. Or what about Scuderi? I don't think they could afford him though.
I would have to say no to both.

Marco is awesome, he'll be missed here in Boston. I'm not sure that we'll miss what he could do on the ice, we have a lot of guys sort of like him. But his leadership is awesome. Hope he does great with you guys, he deserves it.

Thank god. I couldn't take King, Richardson, Brown at LW, Parse and all this other garbage we were trying.

Sturm has mad speed...Richardson and Lewis are the only really fast skaters on our team so this helps.

... Yeah, Purcell has 17 points, which would be tied for 4th on the Kings in scoring with Stoll. But the Kings have Dwight King, the FIRST Kings' player with the last name "King" in team history! Clearly Lombardi is a hockey genius and excels at the historical perspective with regards to hockey names, the Hall of Fame beckons him

*HAD* mad speed. It remains to be seen if he still has it after knee surgery in two consecutive years.

...

So does this mean that Moller won't get much of a chance to play in LA this year?

That was already the case, look at the number of guys they have recalled and played in front of him. Loktionov, Schenn, Westgarth, Zeiler, King, Clifford and Peter Harrold have all occupied lineup spots at forward before Moller has even been recalled.

You're completely missing Lombardi's idiocy. It's obvious what he should have done. Lombardi should have drafted Stamkos instead of Doughty, so the Stamkos-Purcell connection could be getting it done in SoCal instead of NoFla.

Sturm is a UFA and seven time 20 goal scorer. We gave up a low end pick. How can we not like this...better than King, Parse, Richie, Brown, Loki at LW with Kopitar.
