What is Ottawa doing?

Not trying to be critical by any means, just not sure what they're trying to accomplish.

Lee, now Hale?

Could an Ottawa fan enlighten me?

He will be claimed.

I think this spells a minor trade for the Sens. We went from 8 DMen to 6 over the span of 2 days.

No he really isn't.

I think this is just Murray's way of giving the "Lee is better than Hale" crowd a little bit of their own ammo. What a great guy.

I know he was terrible in Pheonix, but he has been serviceable as a Senator in his limited time.

That said, he really isn't that good and no one is claiming him.

Well that's one team then. Still 29 away from "any team".

Well if he can crack an elite team like Ottawa, he can crack any NHL roster.

So are the Sens just going to start trying guys from Binghamton out? Or is that unlikely..

By taking Lee and Hale off the roster the Senators have $1,898,588 in cap room so they could conceivable fit in someone with a 2 million dollar salary with some cap left for injuries. Any guesses? It's also possible Butler is getting called up.

Hrm, as someone already mentioned this leaves Ottawa a touch shallow in the defense department; have to wonder if Murray is getting ready to upgrade the blueline.

I read on Hockey Leaks (don't know anything about this site, just happened across it) that Ottawa was interested in Bieksa - I don't know if there is any merit to that report or not? Would Sens do Bieksa for Foligno and Lee? Foligno replaces Rypien, and adds some bottom 6 punch, Lee can fight it out with Rome for the 6/7 spot. Bieksa gives the Sens a right handed shot, and a 2nd unit pointman for the PP

sens want to get the roster down, we're carrying 8 dmen now. Lee was first choice but no-one wanted him. Hale is second choice. If no-one claims him, one of the two will be sent down.

Wasn't Ottawa's record with Hale in the lineup something like 8-2 before?
