Boston-Ottawa

To Boston:
Brian Lee, 2nd, 5th

To Ottawa:
Zach Hamill

Hamill seems to be stuck behind a glut of centermen and isn't really thriving in the Boston organization. The pieces from Ottawa need no real explanation. Lee can be a good dman in the AHL and probably fill in a decent amount in Boston and make the team next year. This could be far too little for Hamill, I'm just basing this on hearing that he has not much of a future with Boston. Ottawa could use a future 2nd line C.

Too much from Ottawa, that's 2 Bruins fans telling you that by the way.

Too slow, make it 3 Bruins fans.

Really!??
What has happened over the past year that has seen him fall so far out of favor? Just a lack of progression?

i'd love hamill straight up. pretty much same situation as lee but different positions. Boston gives lee a better chance to work into the d lineup, ottawa gives hamill the better chance to get to the NHL.

Paille serves no purpose to Ottawa. I'd LOVE Lee for Hamill though. Again, any explanation as to what has caused the overall disdain for Hamill? All I know about him is what I heard around the draft and a bit the past few years.

I don't think he was ever "in favor" in the first place. Sure he played well and put up points in Everett but he's had a mediocre AHL career so far and guys younger than him outplay him.

He just hasn't done anything worthy of calling him up to the big club.

* In response to the OP, it's overpayment by Ottawa. Like other posters have said Hamill for Lee straight up would work.

It could just be that the B's have pretty good center prospects and on an organizational depth chart, hamill is probably behind Savard, Krejci, Bergeron, Seguin, Colborne, Knight, Spooner, and Suave and I am probably forgetting someone.

I have a feeling some of those guys will be converted to the wing, but I just don't see Hamill making the team any time soon.

He also hasn't exactly stood out in the AHL.

Hmm, so its not like hes done anything awful he just seems kinda stalled? I know he was drafted as somewhat of a project, I see no harm in making a Lee-Hamill swap. Lee is better now and more of a sure thing as an NHL player but even if Hamill doesnt improve whatsoever he'll help the org more than Lee can at this point.

The original proposal is a gross overpayment for Hamill at this point in time, but I don't believe that the Bruins have any interest in Lee. Getting him now would mean risking him on re-entry waivers just to see him at the NHL level.

Hamil's starting to heat up in Providence, so I wouldn't trade him for Lee... At least until he's had a shot in the NHL. I'd do a 2nd though.

you'd trade a 2nd for a guy that cleared waivers a few days ago?

edit: nvm, i just realized you're probably talking about a second for hamill.

Awful deal for Ottawa, i would even do Hamill for Lee, if we really wanted Lee we could of claimed him but i would rather do a DMan for DMan swap like Stuart or a prospect like Penner or Bods for Lee

Why wouldn't the B's have just put in a waiver claim on Lee and picked him up for nothing?

The Bruins would have to make a trade because they need to give money back as well because they don't have a lot of cap space available

youre a hell of a negotiator, but your credibility just took a hit, but if you can find a sucker go for it.

oh ok, I thought you were much more aware than that from your prior posts.....shouldve guessed you hadnt seen all of greater Boston rip poor Zack,..... terrible thing I hear he's got all the skills just hasnt been the most coachable kid, or to be more accurate he tries to be coachable but he falls back into what he's comfortable with.

I know for a fact that bruins scouts were very high on him when he was drafted, Maybe he just needs a change of scenery
