I heard Sturm was seen hand in hand with Meghan Fox at a Manhattan club party thrown by P. Diddy last night

Meh. The same could be said about Raffi Torres (8 goals) and Clarke MacArthur (7 goals). We could have had either guy for almost nothing. BTW, Brian Boyle (10 goals) says "hi!".

As per the official site of the Bruins:

Marco Sturm, who did not skate (previously scheduled day off) spoke to the media post-practice and said he intends to keep working out and “and we’ll see what happens.”

And he's making the trip to Toronto.

Let's forget Sturm. Ottawa fans seem ok with sending us Michalek for Moller + Loktionov + Hickey/Voynov/Teubert/Muzzin.

That's a near perfect deal for us. All prospects, no roster players, AND we get a 6'2" LW that 25 years old with four 20-goal seasons and locked up @ $4.333m through 2013-2014.

Thoughts...?

I don't want to either, but consider the return. As far as centers go, we'd still have Schenn coming through the system plus Tyler Toffoli is looking pretty good right now as well.

We also aren't giving up a 1st round pick so we can re-stock at the draft.

Gotta give to get...

I'd rather give up a first round pick in this draft than Loktionov . . .

sounds too much; Moller, Hickey/Teubert and 2nd would be good/fair price

so he, Cheechoo and a 2nd go for Heatley (and ALL the circumstances surrounding that) and a 5th, and you think even what you've countered above as a fair price?

i can see maybe Hickey or Teubert and a 2nd... maybe.

Wow, I really thought people would like this.

I see it as 3 talented but unproven prospects that aren't on the roster for one player that fills the glaring hole we have. We can't get Spezza without losing a roster player AND he's too expensive (cap-wise).

Fair enough though. I will ask those opposed this question:

Who is a better fit, that costs less, and has a realistic chance of being dealt right now for only prospects/picks?

LOL wtf?! All that for Michalek? Wow, thank God you're not the GM, the dude still has knee problems, I wouldn't give up that much for him, maybe Moller + Hickey MAX.

Also, you're talking about losing Loktionov because we have Schenn in the wings and Toffoli? Tyler Toffoli is a RW lol, not a center.

Better fit, in my opinion, is someone like Ales Hemsky, depending on whether or not he can play on the LW, someone like Blake Wheeler, also if he could move to the LW. Semin is an obvious choice, other then that, I'm not too sure who else would be available and we could get at a reasonable price

I wouldn't mind Michalek, but I don't want to see us lose Moller AND Loktionov with the possibility of Williams being gone next season. That would not be very good asset management.

Yeah, my bad on Toffoli. I was looking at his stats yesterday and I saw him listed as a center on one page. I do remember seeing afterwards that he's a wing.

Well, I'll hang my GM shoes back up. (Or throw them away entirely) I guess I'm just desperate for a goal-scoring winger to be brought in.

I seem to remember someone on here proposed something similar a while back to get Sturm from Boston. Turns out a conditional pick was enough. Lets leave the deals to the GM's and not the fans..

Penner for one should cost less, but maybe not better fit
