So, what does Markov get for us for next year? I know he wants to remain a hab.

Could see it coming a mile away, still disappointing. Best wishes to Markov and hope for a successful rehab!

Money is anyone's guess, but I'd imagine it'll be a one year deal.

Probably a 1 year extension of the same salary he earned this year. I just don't see how they could sign him to a 5 year deal or something.

I think he will resign and the Habs have said that they would give him an offer. I could be wrong, but they all met today, doctors, PG, Markov and is agent to edcide on the best thing to do for him, so maybe PG told him that they still want to keep him long term, so do what's best to heal properly. Maybe I'm just crazy?

Habs must sign him despite all that. It doesn't really matter for how long and how much money. If he doesn't come back, Insurances will pay and his salary won't count in the cap space.

It's a big gamble to resign him but not resigning him is a gamble just as big. I think an offer has to be made, if only to prevent the possibility of him making a full recovery and essentially loosing a player of his caliber for nothing.

I hope that this Carolina game wasnt his last one as a Hab.
It will be a mistake.
The number of options available as UFA is not big enough to think about a life without him.

Should be interesting how the Habs deal with contract talks with Markov after him missing pretty much the entire season.. How much money? How many Years?

With his injury woes of late I really can't see him getting a raise so what would be fair value for both the Habs and Markov for him to return?

Best case IMO is to sign him for 1 year to see if he can stay healthy and still play at a high level and then sign him for a longer term if he does both.. Probably wishful thinking but risking a long term big money contract on Markov right now is a huge risk for the Habs..

Even tho I am a pens fan I would have to say this sucks. I was really looking forward to seeing what your defense would have looked like later in the season with Markov and Subban jellying.

I hope Subban learn from his scratching and plays better. I would love the pens to have a playoff match with you guys. This time we will need to beat Price.

I hope he has a successful surgery, gets healthy and the Habs sign him long term.

I don't have a problem taking a risk on signing him, providing the surgery was a success. He probably won't be the guy he was before but he should still be plenty good enough.
