Best Death Metal band there has to be!( Even tho they started it )
Agree, although I think that the bands who develop and pioneer a genre are on top of it most times, therefore I don't see a contradiction in saying they are the best and that they started it.
Hated Death Metal for a long time but it's grown to me a lot in the last 6 months or so.
Been listening to this a ton lately. Neil Young is the ****.
My Dad tried to force his tastes on me when I was younger, so he gave me that album when I was ten. What the hell was he thinking. No way a ten year old is going to appreciate that album. Probably ruined Neil young for me forever.
Well, I guess in the wake of Judas Priest announcing that their upcoming world tour will be their last I think it's appropriate to play some music by the metal gods.
I present: Steve Bailey. This guy is one of the best bassists nobody has heard of. He's great at false harmonics, and it's doubly impressive considering he plays a fretless. I managed to pick up the 4 string version of this bass a few years ago, and it's freaking incredible.

Haha, I still like a lot of the bands that were my favorites at 10 (Pearl Jam, Radiohead, Rage...) but Neil Young definitely would have been abrasive at that age. Ever hear the Built to Spill cover of "Cortez the Killer"? l bet you'd like some of Live Rust if you listened to it now, really distinct and raw sounding guitar.

Funny, I was listening to the exact same thing around that age (and Pearl Jam/Radiohead are still played often, Rage not as much but still great)
