There was never a time frame originally given. The word was that he'd miss at least the next two games and a further update would be given later after doctors had examined Rinne...

The original article, since taken down, said something to the effect of "we have a game Sat and one Monday...that sounds about right" when Trotz was asked if it was "games" Peks would miss.

But it doesn't matter now. It wasn't like we were waiting for a diagnosis from Dr. Trotz anyway.

And by the way, remember that space shuttle launch with Peks jersey? Officially postponed today by NASA until Feb 3. 2011 at the earliest. Let's hope Rinne is back sooner.

I saw about the shuttle launch and agree, let's hope Pekka is back before it goes off. February date referred to as a "reference point"...

thats crazy, i was thinking we wouldnt see Pekka until after all star game. just seems like every other injury is always longer than originally thought.

I am stunned the lower body part is known to be knee.

If I was a reporter, I would ask Trotz his opinion of the agent providing that much info to the public (and future opponents).

On the bright side, this gives the Preds a chance to size up the value of the assets under management. If Deks and Lindback both perform, it increases trade value for one of them. My guess is Deks is the starter within a week. Lindback made more sense as a backup to Peks because of similar style but I'm not convinced he can outplay Deks over time. As much as I like Peks, we have more depth to abosorb the loss of our best goalie than our best forward (Lombardi) or our best d-man (Suter).

Sorry, I just realized where the confusion came from. When I updated the title this afternoon, I erred and wrote 4-6 instead of 2-4 weeks. Sorry for any confusion!

It's begining to look like one of those years. I hope not but every indicator is showing that. No matter how hard we try injuries keep poping up. Detroit had it last year but they have the talent to survive.

Well, if Sid the Kid was on this team but on the shelf with a concussion after 2 games, I'd still say he was our best forward. Given what we've seen so far this season out of Erat/Sully (the only other viable alternatives to me, in terms of skill), I'd have to go with Lombardi. Horny is what he is, as is Leggy. I agree CalO has performed the best this year but can't say he is our best forward.

And here's my question. What do the Preds do if Anders and Deks play lights out? Do and would they move up the trade timeline for Rinne? It would almost be the perfect storm for the Preds. Let's say, trade Rinne and a spare UFA forward for a offensive player. Wait for Lombardi. AND have the money needed to sign Weber. Might also solve the Sullivan problem.

Of course this is all pending on Lindback and Deks playing. Other than record, this is nothing but good news in my twisted little mind.

Nope, not happening. Deks is 24 and Anders is 22, both babes in terms of NHL goalies. They can both play lights out and we still have Peks as starting goalie next year. I don't think Peks has hit his peak yet.

He's got Dexter (of the Laboratory, not killer in Miami) on the back of his Ads mask as well.

Last weekend during the pregame skate, Dex skated to the corner and smacked his stick, quite deliberately, on the glass in front of some older Texas Stars fans ... then just turned and stared off into space until it was his time to go back into the crease. Made me laugh .... so did the Ads win.

I would rather have Dex play like the Miami Dexter not the Germanic one screaming at his bigger sister.

Rinne had arthroscopic knee surgery yesterday. It went well according to reports and he is still expected to miss 2-4 weeks...

DO NOT PUSH THE BUTTON!!!!!

If he gets a start, there is an outside chance of a backup goalie controversy. Dex needs to perform if he gets in.

Once Peks is back, we all know who's net it really is.

He's had Dexter throughout his career... This is where Dexshow comes from and he's called Dex usually. Everyone calls him Deks but it's Dex for Dexters lab and stuff. His colgate masks all had Dexter on them. Pretty Cool he's kept the same theme throughout his carreer
