Roster

How can the Coyotes keep 25 players? We know that Sillinger is injured so that leaves 24. Are rosters allowed 22 or 23 players? In any event, we have to hide 1 or 2. I think we've got the right players. I'd like to see Taffe remain and it looks like Spiller is the 7th Dman. Looks like we're keepin' 3 goalies. If Bierk gets sent down he has to clear wavers and he's gonzo if that happens. I guess someone has to be hurt all the time. Any opinions?

Teams are allowed to keep 23 guys on the roster. Jeff will be staying because Mike Sillinger is hurt.

24 includes 3 goalies so if they keep all 3 on the roster that means only 7D and 13F on the 23 man active roster to start the year. With Sillinger sidelined 1 F will have to be let go or sent down if no other deals are made before opening day. That's why I think Taffe will still be sent down as all other players would have to be exposed on the waiver wire, unless there is another injured player I have missed here.

Sillinger is replaced by Taffe or Cleary, one of them will be sent down. Spiller now takes the spot left by Simpson. I'd say Suchy, Spiller, and Hulse will all rotate on those last few spots.

So once Cleary or Taffe go to Springfield, we're at the roster limit. I suspect a trade for our goalies won't happen for a couple of months.

The latest injury report was as follows :

Brian Savage (groin strain – day-to-day)

Daniel Cleary (bruised heel – day-to-day)

Mike Sillinger (hernia surgery – 4-6 weeks)

So maybe they want to make sure that everybody is healthy before sending a forward down.

Just wondering, you think Savage refused to skate (Injury..nug, nug, wink, wink) as a thank you for exposing him to the waiver.

They must be really high on Spiller, because they sure as heck made room for him, didn't they?

Spiller is solid. Not flash or anything but I dont think he's going to look out of place.
