Aside from the botched backhand move in the second period, Staal just couldn't get it going...
"Couldn't get anything going for him." I'm not so sure that the franchise centerman should need things done for him. I thought that the line had about six really good scoring chances, including a few for Staal. It's the best option right now, because after a slight downward turn, the Skinner-Ruutu-Cole line looked great last night. Let's hope for continued success.

Yeah, Staal does need better wingers, but that doesn't mean he shouldn't be creating his own offense. Nor does it mean he needs to do everything himself.

Samsonov and LaRose may not be the ideal wingers, but they're what's there. It shouldn't matter who's on his wing, he should be the best player on the ice. Every night. He's gotten better about it for the most part, but it'd be ideal (if not a little unreasonable) if he could bring the "Epic Staal" level more consistently.

Eh, whatever, I was just trying to add to conversation, way to shut it down...

Because the Hurricanes site NEVER ****ING EVER (okay, sometimes they do... but c'mon) takes our own team's highlights (why the hell is this?)

I mean Colorado's calls of our goals from Friday are a ****ing joke.
http://video.hurricanes.nhl.com/vide...AR710&fr=false

Not only is the call the worst call of a goal I've ever heard, they cut it off literally 1 second after the goal is scored. No celebration, etc.

Therefore I put up cool canes goals or whatever, with real commentators on YouTube.

Double click the videos for HD.

Seriously. They actually paid a man to flatly mumble "scores." after an OT GWG. Even if he's the losing team commentator, he should have a little more of a reaction than that.

Anyway, after having subzero interest in this game I have to say, it was probably the most entertaining game I've watched all year. Fantastic action on both ends of the rink, wish they were all like that.
