"Thrasher" Predators at Thrashers 12.06.10

Bare bones GDT continues, looking for four in a row.

Let's go Predators!

I feel like Atlanta has grabbed all of the leftovers from our division the past few years. Pevs, Buff, Ladd, Sopel, Mason. That's a fourth of their team right there.....

Anyways we need a win today. Git er done boys.

Should be a good game in Hotlanta. The Thrashers are a solid team this year. Evander Kane is something special.

Just out of curiousity, is this something you're saying because of a source? I didn't see anything on Cooper's twitter page or NHLPredsInsider. Also checked McKenzie's page, but didn't really expect anything there.

Pure mathematics. Dumont is the resident dog house and with Legwand someone has to be scratched. That someone looks like Dumont. SK is firing up and Spaling looks more at home playing on the PK.

Dumont is the odd duck of this group and if not for the NTC my first bet would be Dumont traded for picks.

Until there is smoke, I don't think Dumont will be traded.

Slake, any word as to if J.P. is being shopped?

I haven't heard anything. Realistically, Dumont is the hardest player on the entire team to trade (outside of Weber/Suter) due to the fact that he has become a member of the community, is committed to residing here after he retires, and has that pesky NMC clause built into his contract.

Personally, I have no clue what they're going to do in this situation. I don't currently see a resolution to it, but whatever happens, I doubt it'll go down like the drama across the river...

Tom Callahan just tweeted that Legwand is OUT again tonight, so that at least gives Dumont a reprieve - unless Trotz wants to dress Sulzer or Belak in his place...

Tonight we have to keep firing pucks at Pavalec. The guy is seeing everything right now. I'm sure Atlanta will be rolling The Fug Alien out against Hornqvist all night, so that battle in front of the net should be a good one to watch. Horny will probably need some support, but in typical Predators fashion won't get any.

Didn't see the game Saturday, but judging from the highlights we need to keep playing like that. At least offensively. That O'Reilly goal was one hell of a set up.

FWIW, I had heard that they approached him this past summer, but had wanted to stay. but that was even further than the i heard from a friend who works with a wifes brother's uncle kinda deal. not my normal 3 people i talk to.

and I would still scratch ward instead of dumont. when the next guy in the top six gets a boo boo, i would rather have jp trying to make passes and turning the puck over on the boards than ward.

Trotz called out Ward for doing a good job recently, so unfortunately he's still a fixture in the lineup.

I was mad one of the recent overtimes when Ward was out taking an offensive zone draw. We lost it and spent most of the next minute fending the other team off in our zone. But when I looked to see who else I'd like out there, Wilson maybe, I saw that the most likely candidates for the faceoff had just played shifts in OT. So I quit being ticked at Trotz for that decision. Ward's ok, as a grinder. Makes me cringe to see him when it's 4 on 4 hockey though. But he can be ok when we're thin due to injury, like now.

I think this could be a more up and down game than our usual recently, so I won't be surprised to see Dumont play a role. Hopefully it's scoring instead of allowing a goal.
