Who has more Value?

We're having a discussion on the sabres board (for the sake of sabres fans, please don't go there to see what the guy is saying) about devils' defensemen. Back me up on this-

Since Rafalski joined the club, who has been more important: Rafalski or Stevens?

next question, Rafalski vs. Andy Delmore: who would you rather have?

ok, now who would you rather have: Scott Stevens or Andy Delmore?

I'm not being sarcastic, either.

Stevens easily, he is the heart of the team

Rafalski is so superior to Delmore its funny.

Can i just laugh at the last one?

I haven't seen much of Delmore. The Devils could sure use some of his powerplay goals, but he's known for being somewhat defensively challenged. Devils' forwards are almost all strong 2-way players, so I doubt they would want an offense-only d-man.

Maybe the Sabres will force Delmore to improve his overall game. The Hockey News had Niedermayer (#4), Stevens (#11) and Rafalski (#12) on their list of top 20 NHL defensemen. I don't believe Delmore made the list...

He's being serious. Check his stuff posted over on njdevs.com if you still wonder if he's joking.

We may have to get Jason some help. Anyone know a good hockey psychologist?

Heart of the team, no question Stevens!!! Delmore had a good rookie year and playing on Nash didn't help him too much. Raffie is leaps and bounds above Delmore. Just watch a couple of Devil games and you'll see I'm not just being a hommer, he is that good.

I don't think Rafalski has to be that good to be better than Delmore. Just that Delmore is that bad on defense.
