The Harsh Reality

If you look around the league at teams past and present, which teams can you compare this version of the Ottawa Senators to? Their talent is aging, almost all their contracts are unmovable, they have no high-end prospects, and they're not going to finish low enough to acquire any in the near future.

The Sens are doing the same things the Leafs did from 2005-2008, the same thing the Islanders have been doing for most of the past decade, and the same thing the Calgary Flames are doing this year.

Mediocre is the WORST thing an NHL franchise can be. Won't get any better, won't get any worse.

I mean look at how we are being mocked:

And the sad part?

I AGREE!!

What other teams past/present can we compare this version of the Sens to?

You agree with this drivel?

It all it does state one fact: that the Senators are playing like utter garbage and beats it like a dead horse.
Yes we know that the Senators are terrible at the moment thank you very much.

The Ottawa bus shelter's Metro and 24 "newspapers" relate more insight then this
If you'd like I could scrape off higher analysis from my boot after trekking from my apartment to work

the tampa bay lightning awere good team then sank for no reason when Richards was traded for nothing (Heatley) and then Boyle was traded (fall of Redden?) and they they still had some great talent St Louis who was aging (ALfie) and Lecavalier who has to play with **** (Spezza) and a team which seemed to have a poor backend (see ours)

and then came the Stamko's and Hedman's of the world after suckage and they their extra cap space (like this summer) to steal Gagne for pretty much nothing.

We are well on our way to tanking right now which might be what we need then Alfie (St Louis) can mentor his heir Landeskrog (Stamkos) and have a upcoming swedish all star Karlsson and or Rundblad defensemen (hedman)

The only two that dont fit are Connolly and Cowen but that is ok

We're basically the Calgary Flames without the elite goalie. To all those who think Vokoun will suddenly make this team a contender, think again. We'd pretty much be Calgary East with him.
