What I would like to see

Butler/Spezza/Alfy
Michalek/Fisher/Kovalev
Foligno/Regin/Winchester
Ruutu/Kelly/Neil
Shannon

Ottawa has tried everyone else on first line Left wing. If that does not work Ottawa is gonna have to find someone via trade.

Gonchar/Kuba
Phillips/Karlsson
Campoli/Carkner or Hale

I like the way Kuba/Gonchar played and I would like to see more of it

We aren't going to bring up Butler. As much as I and everyone else would like to see it, it just doesn't make sense. He needs to adjust to a tougher game than the one played in NCAA.

My god, we just played a good game in Pittsburgh (in terms of offense) and beat the leafs last night. Let the lines be for the next while.

I expect we will see Butler after Christmas - sooner perhaps if Lee is moved. There are salary cap implications.

Why are we in such a rush?

Bring him in when their is a high probability of success and you sure as hell do not stick him on the first line right away.

You bring him up when he isn't going to be counted on to defend against other teams top lines, when he can focus on playing a simple game and getting his chances.

You play him with Kovalev and Regin.

Regin looked good on the first line last night, not sure why you want to change that.

Fisher/Spezza/Kovalev
Alfredsson/Locke/Butler
Winchester/Regin/Michalek
Ruutu/Kelly/Neil

Gonchar/Kuba
Phillips/Karlsson
Campoli/Carkner
Hale

At the end of the season, Leclaire, Kuba, Kovalev, Ruutu are gone for CAP. Phillips @ 2.5 as a 5/6. Everyone not named Spezza, Karlsson, Butler is available for the right price.

I highly doubt that, lol...no offence....

And why would you put Butler on the 1st over Gagne??? Regin on the 4th and Foligno on the 2nd??

Dude, I don't mean to offend you. But these are terrible lines.

Sorry, Locke will never be a regular on the Sens, we have a lot of centres, and he is too slow to play on the wing.

Locke been successful everywhere he's been. He is immensely creative and always around the scoring plays. He's never been given a chance at an NHL level.

We need what he's got - slow or not. At least give him his shot at proving it one way or the other.

We're not going anywhere this year and I'd rather watch Locke's heart and soul play to others indifference or ineptitude.

Who could argue with rhymes like that?

That isn't going to happen, look what happened to Cheechoo last year, he was heart and soul, look what it got him, a buy out.

There is a reason Locke hasn't made the jump, speed is huge in the NHL, and it is a must for a centre... you know, the player who's supposed to be back and forth playing in both ends of the ice.

Heart and soul is great, but he's not going to gain NHL speed over night. Watching a battle is awesome, unfortunately you won't see a player playing his heart out, you'll see someone struggling to keep up with Carkner who is even more frustrating to have on the ice then the players who have become complacent.

I think its time to break up Alfy and Spezz again. Give Butler another chance I would like to see him play with Regin.

Foligno/Spezza/Kovalev
Michalek/Fisher/Alfy
Winchester/Regin/Butler Winchester at center maybe or just take the faceoffs
Ruutu/Kelly/Neil

Next year this team needs alot of help at LW

You think Butler stays up after that? Not sure what the reasons would be.

Instead of line juggling...

GET THE FORWARDS TO USE THEIR D.

The cycling is predictable, with the opposing forwards collapsing down along the boards to take away the cycle. Instead, use the D and then crash the net. This way pucks would actually get to the slot rather than just stay wide along the boards.
